Wested Authentic Brown Lambskin puzzle?

I've just received my first Wested, LC in Authentic Brown Lambskin.
It looks and fits great, and is a rich dark colour, but I keep scratching my head over the leather.
Somehow, to me it seems 'synthetic'. :?
It has no leather smell whatsoever.
To the touch, it is very soft and has a nice texture, but I'm puzzled?
Has anybody else encountered this :?:

Yes the Authentic brown is very smooth and slick. Get it wet, crumple it up in a ball and let it dry naturally (no additional heat!) That will start to wrinkle and add character to the leather!
