I have one of their repros that's about 5-6 years old. It is a tan/khaki color, no tint of green in it whatsoever. I understand they switched canvas sometime back, and the newer ones are more olive. Mine has the brass buckle on the strap, too. Anyway, has anyone with this same color bag tried dyeing it at all to add an olive green tint to it?
I have a repro about probably just as old, if not a little bit newer. It's also very very khaki, with just a hint of the idea of the concept of green's khaki cousin. Basically, not very green, but if you close your eyes and think really hard, its a LITTLE green. I've wanted to dye it sometimes, but other times... I like being one of the few guys who has a khaki one.
I just washed the WPG repro bag I got today & it came out fine. It's a tad wrinkled and the desired beginnings of color fade showed up, but other than that it looks just right. It must be one of the newer ones.
I did mine using Dylon cold dye and it cam up a treat. Let it sit in a pot of hot tap water for an hour and its awesome by my standards. This was one of the original bags they offered.
