Aldens-Pecards-Polish Question

Post by Flash Gordon »

I've just put a good slathering of Pecard's on my new Aldens, and I was wondering:

Can I still polish them with Meltonian shoe cream, and if so, how long do I have to wait before I can?

They seem pretty waxy with the Pecards on them, and I didn't want to screw them up with polish before I got your input.

(Also, just out of curiosity, how do you pronounce Pecards? Is it Peh-CARDS. like Jean Luc Picard? Or PEE-cards?)

I wouldnt' even wear them until the Pecards has completely soaked through the leather and there was no residue left. If there is after 24 hours, then lightly wipe away the residue. After, the Pecards has been wiped away, then I would think that the Miltonian should work. I have done it that way. It works.

As far as pronounciation, it's the former not the later.

I'd also add, it depends on the leather version too. On my older shiny Aldens, I use Meletonian shoe creme, and only Pecards on the areas that flex to keep those areas 'lubricated'. I like the formal pronunciation too. but they don't pronounce it EITHER way at the factory. They say 'PECK-ards' 8-[ . Regards. Michaelson
