Guys, for a long time now, I´m thinking of a new jacket.
I have two Wested, one Raiders and one LC. The problem is, I´m going to East Africa this year and those I have are both a bit to large, just to wear them with a T-shirt, you know, tropical climate. They´re perfect for "cold" Europe, but I want a jacket, which fits perfectly without any sweater or strata of clothes under it.
Firstly I thought of a Todd´s Standard in S, but I´m not longer sure how to decide I don´t want to pay the custom version and the more I deliberate
about what kind of jacket I should choose, the more I get confused
I need the professional opions from all of you
Need help for a jacket decision

Thing is, the cotton Wested IS an Indy jacket, made from the same patterns as the standard Raiders jacket, and it's machine washable. Something to consider since you'll be on the road and in a hot area.
A great compromise, as though you want to keep 'adventure' like in your travel, you need a bit of reality to kick in as well. Cotton breathes, you can wash it when required, and in this case it IS an Indy jacket just made in a different material if purchased from Wested.

the todd's standard will give you the advantage of a light leather, but the poly lining will be almost as hot as a regular leather jacket in the heat......do you really need a leather jacket in africa?
i took my wested goat to jamaica and that never left the hotel room.
i would go the cotton route for sure. i wanted to mate my akubra to the wested in jamaica....really wanted to.....but i was sweating enough, even in the evenings.
