Here's a boots line-up

Post by Cabinetman »

No doubt this is not an all-inclusive listing, but these are the best I have found so far. By the way, the Wolverine 1518, while being a fantastic boot, is not necessarily an Indy option. This is the boot I wear everyday, and until I get a pair of something more Indyesque, these will do. Besides, they've been worn almost everyday for over two years and look great...naturally distressed.

Also this is the first crack for me at posting a pic. We'll see if works...

Well, the preview shows that it worked. It does appear a bit small. Any of you let me know if you need it bigger, that is, if it's too grainy when you blow it up on your own. I could e-mail it to you directly, or try to rehash it over at picture trail.

The Carolina Husker Mid Brown 3564 I think is the current model. The website I found the 364 (above the 3564) on had the boot at about $20.00 less. I would expect that it is a clearance type of thing maybe. And I'm not sure what the deal is on the CJWholesale site. I like the RedWing 952, but it lacks stitching on the toe.

Anyway, after reading through many posts where some of this information has been made known already, I thought it would be nice if we could see them all at once. Enjoy.

I know I am probably beating a dead horse here, but I'll put my boot in the running. The soles are NOT Indyesque, but they can be resoled with something better.

Is that the LL Bean boot? I was thinking I read that is was not available, and I don't believe I could find it on their site. But if it is, that is great. In any case, thanks for putting that up here. Maybe this thread could become THE boots line-up rather than just a few options.

Anybody else...keep 'em comin'. I'd be pleased to re-do the picture with the updates.

I do believe they are still available. I got mine for $74.95, originally $110. Now they go for $64.95...not bad IMO.

A little rough at first, I added some Dr. Scholls insoles and just wore 'em...now they are GREAT! I have them on right now. Just my $.2.

Peace,

Just a note: Avoid dealing with CJ's Wholesale at all costs. There are others who can back me on this. They appear to have good deals, but they don't actually have the boots. They just mess you around for a while and you may miss out on another boot waiting to hear from CJ's.

Yea, that's what I remember reading, in a nutshell. I probably shouldn't have included them on the picture, but did with the "I don't know what the deal is with ..."

We'll see how many additives and preservitives we get for "The List", and edit it from there.

Thanks for the "no-way, Jose" on CJWholelottacrap.

That's a cool list. I've found a boot at an army store, looks alot like the aldens, and comes in brown. I'll be getting a pair eventually, and I'll take a picture of them when I do, if I have film).
Also, I think I've noticed before that you would make a second post to make a correction. Just a heads up, you can edit your posts using the icon in the upper right section of your posts ;)

More options on the way. Of course, short of the Aldens themselves, they all come up a bit...uh, short. But some are pretty close. I'll be editing the list to include the newest finds soon.

Yes..... Stay away from CJWholesale!!!!

I attempted to purchase a pair for a friend..... hoping that it'll come soon.
It took 6-7 weeks for them to respond.... saying that they didn't have the boot. Goodness, you would think they would have told me that after I placed the order.

as for boots now.....

those J crew ones look really good.
