Thanks for sharing. Neat to see whips in construction. Looks so easy when you see it in photos but its actually tough. Please do share more as you recieve them.

I have always appreciated how Bernie keeps his customers up-dated on the progress of commissioned whips.

His emails and pictures makes one feel involved in the creative process.

You are very fortunate to be acquiring an EM Brand whip; they are a real joy to own/use/admire.

Very nice looking whip! It's always interesting to see what goes into a whip and even though I make my whips a bit differently now, Bernie's pics were a great help to me when I was starting out.
Is that a croc tooth in the first pic? I wonder where that is in your whip??

LOL, I don't know. But it would be cool if it was in the whip somewhere I'll let you know how it goes when I get it.

The "croc tooth" is actually the leg bone of a sheep cut in half that I use as a sort of fid to enlarge holes in leather and for enlarging the keeper on stock whips when I put them together. I've had this bone for about 25 years now and still have the other half somewhere, thought I had better keep it in case the other one wore out

I reckon it might just last me out.

The whip arrived in fine shape, thankfully no cut thong by customs. It was all I expected and more. The plaiting is very tight and even, and perfectly tapered, beautiful to see. It throws wonderfully. I did my first combination crack without effort using this whip. There is a HUGE difference between this one and the other 8ft whip I have. The other feels unwieldy, whereas this one feels like an extension of your arm. I'm very happy with it. I also received a nice picture of the whip and Bernie's whip cracking demo DVD. Since I could save on shipping and also had him include a copy of this whip making DVD's.
