Brim Break

Best way to re-define the brim break? No millinery antiques in my possession.

Heat up an iron to the cotton setting. (no steam) Take a small piece of cloth, wet it, and wring it out. Now, wet just the brim break area with the cloth, dampening the felt(not soaking it). Then take the edge of the iron, and keep the flat part of the iron off the brim, and just use the sharp edge of the iron to press the brim break back in. Work around the hat, and don't linger in any one place too long, keep moving. Press very hard with the edge of the iron at the brim break. Once you iron the moisture from the felt, let it cool, and repeat the whole process if necessary. Fedora
