In the last few weeks ive been looking at my jacket and a niggiling thought has cropped up in my mind, although i try to look objectivly as possible at my gear sometimes i feel i've missed things when considering SA.
I've had my wested well over a year now and love it and i am thinking of buying another.
when i gave my spec's for my jacket i had my own body measured to the inch but only now do i feel a problem has arised because of this, i know i am not to the exact measurements of harrison but it's just that i feel my jacket fits to my shoulders to neatly, the seam stops exactly in the right place say like when your having a suit made for you. were as the more i see pics of other peoples jackets or more importantly in raiders. (raiders auth lambskin is what i have) i notice the seam falls over the shoulders by a couple of inches.
The apperance of my jacket make me look like a Skinny indiana with square shoulders were indy has rounded off shoulders due to the over hang of the fit. The first photo below indicates this point best and wanted peoples opinions, another factor could be the non SA hat i'm wearing which i believe has a broader brim than the AB that i'm waiting for. the size jacket i got was a 38' i am aware that harrison had a 40' or a 42' i believe? but wanted people to give there opinion on what size i go for on the shoulders...... the second photo does'nt look as bad when i have my hands on my hip because it seem to broaden my shoulders out more.

When I first looked at your thread I didn't read it - and I thought "what could he possibly not like about that jacket?" So I certainly didn't think that the shoulders were too squared.. now that you've brung it to our attention (I went back and read it) I see exactly what you're saying, and I still don't think it's a big deal. It obviously would be a little more SA if the seam was further down just a bit, so it depends on how much it bothers you. I have the opposite problem with my USWings jacket, the shoulder width is just too great on it.
cheers doug for you opinion... well what i was going to do was to keep the jacket i have and because its a real good fit to my frame i would keep it as a going out jacket and for smart occasions, then buy another one exactly the same plus any other SA things i'm missing then acetone and destress it with no worries.
That's a bl**dy excellent fit, I suspect there are a few folks crying into their keyboards looking at these pics. The back pic shows the shoulders are perfect.
If you really want a looser fit you could go up one chest size or even half a chest size and have slighly less fitted sleeves, but wow that looks good.
You could specify the centre of the neck to shoulder measurement 1 inch longer than this to give a little bit of 'droop', it really doesnt need a lot.
I'm guessing you are going to get the pockets made smaller and you could ask for a bigger neck size. But that one is going to be hard to top.
It might be an idea to send them that one to match to, (I don't know how much you trust the post) along with print out of your pics.
Yeah, in the first pic it appears there is a problem with the shoulders. All the rest are fine and I agree with the guys.
Before you order new jacket why don't you try the water curing method?
Soak the upper part of the jacket in hot (super hot) water and pull the shoulders down a little bit. Little bit as in very hard but careful not to rip any seams. When the jacket dries you will have the 1 inch missing from there.
Looks great, really.. I think Platon's suggestion is a good one. Puppetboy from Todd's Costumes mentioned just the other day that lambskin can successfully be stretched and I know this to be true from my own experience.. I would only let it dry naturally though, don't put it in the dryer. I'd possibly even stretch it at the bottom for a little more length, but that's just me. I've done this on almost all the jackets I've owned with no ill effects to the leather (only shrank the lineing a little on one I put in the dryer). YMMV.
