Cologne

Post by MiloFinch »

Do you guys think that Indy ever wore cologne? I figure he wouldn't worry about it when he's out in the field, but when he's back home, teaching class, it's possible.

What do you guys think? I was thinking maybe some English Leather. He seems to sophisticated for Hoyt's. Old Spice maybe, though that wasn't introduced until 1937. Or Dunhill for Men, but he wasn't that rich.

Any thoughts?

I like St John's Bay Rum. I don't know about St. John's but Bay Rum has been around since before Indy's time.

No different from what watch Indy would use or which socks and underwear would be appropriate for the time period. All of these have been discussed before and will be again. I wouldn't be surprised if the cologne has already been gone over.

My first thought would be Stetson, but "Obsession" might be more accurate. :rolling:

Of course, they don't make it anymore, but "Hero" would work too. :)

(Just kidding folks...just kidding!)
Probably Pepsodent - a fine 1930's product:

And as for your other query - Preparation H... it's been around since 1935.

Just remembered, it's allso worn by Col. Slade(Pacino) in Scent of a Woman when he goes to meet a "lady friend." Definitely a scent for a man's man.
