After seeing what Tomelectrode was able to get from the Shoe Mart for $199, I decided to call them and put my name on a waiting list. The staff there was fantastic and within 2 days I received a call that they had my exact size. I was assured that though they were "seconds" they were still excellent and if I didn't want them I could ship them back for a refund. I took the plunge and there is one SERIOUS PROBLEM....
I cannot find ANY FLAWS!!! There is absolutely nothing wrong with these. They look better than my pair direct from Alden shoes 3 years ago. And the color is excellent on these boots too!!!
On a comical note, when looking them over for the "flaw" I heard a rattling in one of the boots. I thought "oh no", but it turned out to be the complimentary shoe horn....oops.
