No, it's just 'official' because it's licensed by Lucasfilm. Nothing more.

the pin was gold!!!

no, it was silver!!!

no, it was white gold!!!

the funny thing is i think i saw a DP when i was walking around today....the only reason why i couldn't identify it 100% is because the pin looked quite thinner than the usual offerings, along with the ribbon. she had the tell-tale tear drop on top though and a very rich brown colour....it didn't look bad at all. i wish i had the chance to stop him and examine it.....definitely was not the wool offering.

Actually, I shouldn’t make too much fun of the DP – my first Indy hat was a Disney/MGM wool DP, purchased a couple of years before I got into the whole gear thing and didn't know my butt from a hole in the ground. After some Indygear education I actually rebashed it to get rid of the teardrop (and naturally ditched the pin) – a bit like trying to make a purse out of a pig’s ear – and ended up with something that looked like the LC Castle Brunwald hat. Of course after owning an AB the DP just sits in the closet, but I pulled it out the other day while my AB was out getting reblocked and it didn’t look as horrible as I remember. There’s just that hint of purple to it that I always hated, and of course it’s too short…
