Question about the Suit Indy Wore at the End of Raiders.

Post by Tylendal »

I can't seem to find any information on that thing at all. It looks like a grey pin-striped double-breasted suit, but that's all I can tell by looking at it, it's a very short scene. Does anyone know anything more about it?

I wear a suit to work everyday, but mine is the normal single breasted suit.

I am very keen on getting a double breasted suit like the one in Raiders, in spite of being told that Double-breasted suits are only for overweight ppl. I think it looked very sharp on Indy.

funny I think double breasted suits look worse on overweight people. as for the suit, go to Indy Magnoli and get a custom suit from him. That would be the easiest this takes you to his site and the Washington DB suit, he also has a NY db suit

I concur with dostacos. Magnoli is your man.

As for the double breasted on big or skinny guys... I've heard both, and I think it has much to do with the exact style. A one-button closure, for example, is not a wise choice for the round-bellied (like myself).

A tailor once told me, and I have agreed with him ever since, that double breasted suits are not for overweight people (like me) since it wraps around the belly and can make it look larger.
Just look on TV... David Letterman always uses a double breasted and Jay Leno uses a single. 8)

Letterman's been wearing single breasted suits pretty often lately, but he used to only wear the double breasted with the inside button buttoned. Very annoying.

I agree. It looked very sloppy, and he would keep playing and fiddling with it. I couldn't wait for him to sit down behind his desk.
