Anyone know a good source to find all the pics from this promo session? It'd be a good source to study the jacket.
There's a little bit of Han Solo peeking out from under that fedora, huh?

Yeah, I posted this one in the Indy IV section. It's pretty cool.
From the wall and the length of his hair (Agent 5? Care to confirm?) I'd say it's from the same shoot as the famous shot of Indy with his leg up and leaning forward with the whip in his hand. I don't have it handy, but it's usually sold as an 8x10 at conventions for autographs etc...and it's an iconic photo.
I love this shot. I just wish a higher res was available!

Cassidy, since I have this special shot you describe, hanging above my desk here right now, I dare to compare the two. Hair seems similar, but the stubble is a little bit more obvious on "my" picture ... might be a question of lightning, 'though.
I think, another point concerning the picture above is, that Ford looks rather shy there ... and that is something I won't connect to Indy (well, at least the adventurer Indy, maybe not Prof. Jones).

You guys are gay. Just kidding, though I’m surprised there haven’t been any comments about being lost in his eyes.
edit:
There's nothing wrong with being gay. I have two close friends that are gay. I just thought that it was funny that so many of you guys are so googely-eyed over Ford.

i think debbie gibson covered that in the 80's anyways rundquist.Rundquist wrote:You guys are gay. Just kidding, though I’m surprised there haven’t been any comments about being lost in his eyes.
here's my take on the pic:
the collar looks unlike the large collars that we have seen in other sheets (smaller in length and in width)
the biggie that i see is that the brim shape on his hat is opposite (reversed swoop) as to what we see on film. anyone else catch that?....i guess we should save that discussion for the fedora section though........
He looks different because that's not Indiana Jones - that's Harrison Ford dressed up like Indiana Jones!
I think it makes a difference when the actor is "in character." Like some of you guys have said, he's got a certain expression on his face that's just not... Indy. He's definitely not in character (this may have just been a costume test), and I'm sure that has an effect on his persona and how he carries himself. We know he's pretty shy, but when he's Indy he's very much the opposite.

I agree. He looks more like Han Solo in this pic. That's kinds wierd that even though he is wearing the gear , he doesn't really "look" like Indy.IndyMcFly wrote:He looks different because that's not Indiana Jones - that's Harrison Ford dressed up like Indiana Jones!

Getting back to the original request...can anyone post any more pics from this publicity shoot? Two come to mind:
-Harrison with one knee up, holding his whip in one hand and resting the other hand on his hip.
-Harrison side shot, raising his elbow.
I've seen the latter in some threads, but can't seem to find it.
Cheers!

Wonder if we can learn anything about Indy's jacket's armhole from this pic... Guess it does ride up after all! And from the looks of it, I'd think that the flying squirrel cometh!Indiana G wrote:
And also, if this picture is anything to go by, looks almost as if they originally wanted Indy's gunbelt as his ONLY belt... Given the absence of a web-belt in this pic

Huh, you do know that's a publicity still from the 1979 film "Hannover Street" right? Although it is Harrison up against the Nazis. Again, and disguising himself as one. Again. Check out the link for more pics:and don't forget this one with the prototype jacket

Well, from the pics -gearwise- it looks as if the jacket length is pretty short. Compared to the length seen in the opening temple scenes and also in Salah-and-Indy-with-the-wise-old-man-Ra-headpiece scenes especially. Can we assume that jackets were made at varying lengths? Has this been established?

Well, from the one of Indy leaning on his knee, the jacket is riding up his left side due to his posture, so it would seem shorter than it is. You can't tell how much it has ridden up, since the right hand side is obscured by his arm.sebas wrote:Thanks rhboyd!

In the picture of Indy raising his arm, once again the jacket is riding up. Try this with almost any Indy jacket, and you'll get a similar effect
