Here's a couple shots of my new 8' Strain next to my Morgan 10'.

I love the look of this whip. It is plaited very tightly and cracks easily. A true work of art. It is quite a contrast to my beloved Morgan which is much looser but still cracks like a champ.
I cannot stress enough how nice Joe is to deal with. He was very helpful on the phone and answered all of my questions. I will need to get a 10' from him when I save up enough dough but for now I am waiting on a 10' Del Carpio.

Hey Nebraska,
Great pics, and great whip! Joe makes a really solid nice whip. Did you request the handle being thinner like that? I like the look of it.

Paul Nolan

Hey Brad,
Great looking whips! congrats, and also great pics. Your Morgan looks very Morgan with its wide strands and general style, and your Strain looks as perfect as a hand made whip gets (so much that it looks machine-made!)
Modern Strains have that thinner handle; my Strain has it too, and it looks great. Joe is not only a master whipmaker but one #### of a guy as well. I was on the phone with him the other day, and time really went flying. I will order soon from him either another Indy whip or one of his "Lonestar" models.
BTW, I'll have your new 10ft Raiders ready next week. Would love to see a pic of it next to your Morgan and Strain.
Regards,
Bernardo

VP,
Well, modern as in the last few years. If memory serves me, I purchased my Strain from WSP in 2005, and the handle is sligthly thinner than modern Morgans, just like Nebraska Brad's whip. The handle of your Strain should be of the same diamater as well. Joe is extremely consistent in his work.
