Wested's Mission: Impossible (I) Jacket?

Post by Castor Dioscuri »

Out of curiousity, does anybody know if the jacket that Wested supplied to Tom Cruise & Co. for the first Mission: Impossible movie was made from black lamb, or another hide? Judging from the movie, it's really hard to tell, and almost looks coarse, like maybe cowhide? Or maybe it's just terribly distressed...

I haven't seen the film in a while but the original was an Armani that the costume people brought to Wested to make dupes for the production (back ups and stunts), the numbers 10 or 11 seems to ring a bell.

As for the material, I expect the movie ones were lamb... after finding out that Indy's jacket was lamb I'm noticing that film jacket out there very often drape like lamb too, it must happen a lot so that the actors don't overheat under the lights!

Thanks KT! That's quite a shame though... I had been under the impression that Wested had designed that jacket, but it does make sense that they'd get an Armani for the hero jacket. ;)
