Hi everybod! I don't post much but I read this board daily. I'm trying to make it really easy for my girlfriend to buy my x-mas present(I love old Warner Brothers cartoons. . . x-mas, heh-heh).I would like a slighltly darker version of the discounted ROTLA lamb that is being offered. Do the facings make a difference with day-to day usage or are you okay with the screen accurate version not catching the lining in the zipper?
P.S. Any of y'all liv in So.Cal? Im working the Knott"S ScarryFarm &if you wanna talk Indy, I'd love too! And I hope I have not crossed some product endorsement boundary in stating this fact.
Go see Hacks, ask for Jeremy.
If this is bad I'm really sorry. . . and I'll see you at the summit on the Queen Mary. . . for sweet, sweet drinking and chatversation.
. . . okay I'm done.

1.5".

NOTE: Also please go back to my initial post in this thread, I discovered that my original pics were WAY to light. They have been colour corrected now.

This jacket looks nice to me. Cut seems nice. The pockets, flaps and pocket placement maybe a little off but no biggie if you don't have SA disease running in your veins.

I think it's a good deal for the money.

Dear Sir
The leather of the jackets are both the same, the rola jacket has a silver zipper and the slimmer 80's fit cut.
The custom jacket can be in the same leather but we will use your measurements
Thanks Gemma

Subject: leather/construction of ROLA vs. custom

Hi Gemma –

I wonder if you could tell me a little bit about the difference in leather and construction quality one would see when comparing the ROLA to a custom jacket that was built essentially to the same spec (with “authentic brown” lambskin)… ?

-bob
According to this email I received from Gemma, the ROLA authentic jackets are made of the same lambskin one would get with a custom jacket. The reason I bring this up is because I had been under the impression that the ROLA used a slightly lighter/thinner (in terms of weight/thickness) lambskin and was even a bit lighter in color as well. Is Gemma perhaps just telling me "they're both lambskin" and that's that?

What wasn't really answered was whether one could expect a different level of construction quality between the two. I would think so, given that the customs are handmade in house and the ROLAs are (apparently?) farmed out, but I don't know. Perhaps KT could comment being as he has actually handled the ROLA :)

One other point on this jacket - I have a vague (very vague, so anyone in the know please correct me if I'm wrong) recollection of having read somewhere that Peter's motivation for offering such a jacket was something to do with the high volume of custom orders he was getting with the famous (or as Peter might refer to them, "infamous") Agent5 Raiders SA specs. I bring this up because this jacket seems to miss the mark in terms of pocket placement (a little too high, perhaps?) and the sleeve seam placement (should be below the yoke seam). Anything else look different to anyone's eyes?
...having just re-read this last paragraph - holy @#$% I've only been on here two weeks and I already have a stage 5 case of "screen accuricitis". Warning to other newbies - it's definitely contagious!

That's not exactly how I read it. (the 'caps' are mine)

Looks to me like they CAN make a custom in the other lambskin if you request it. It's more than likely a different sourced lambskin they use for the custom orders.

Mmm, that's how that looks to me.

When I picked up one of the Roltas the first thing I noticed was that they were lighter than my custom lamb weight wise. Not a huge amount, but noticably. I also noticed that they had shoulder pads! (Now I will state again the pads are not a biggie! They are easy to take out if you don't like them and for some of the rounder shouldered fans they actually help the drape of the jacket).

The colour is 'slightly' lighter but not a vast amount again. Have a search around, I did a pic of several of the jackets placed next to each other as a comparison.

Pockets are good, they are much better proportioned than they have been for a while. Could possibly still be made slightly wider. IMO

Yoke/sleeve placement. The yoke IS smaller on this jacket it's just that the seams are still aligned with the bottom of the yoke. Personally, and this is just me, I don't care, it is borderline in most of the images out there and it could be an optical illusion. I have seen pics of jackets where the yoke and arm seams are "actually' aligned that from certain angles "look" like the arm seams are lower. YMMV.

Hello,
Does anyone know if either the authentic lamb or the lamb crush jackets come with cotton body and satin sleeves? Has this already been answered and I missed it?
Apologies if that's the case.
Thanks,
Hoose

Hello everyone!

This is my first post here so I thought I'd make it productive. I just received one of these Special Offer Raiders jackets for Christmas and it is awesome! This is my first Indy jacket so I really have nothing to compare it to, but I can say that it is a whole lot darker than in any of the other pics of the Special Offer Raiders. Here are a few pics:

Holt

what were the specific specifications you asked Magnoli include in your LC jacket? (materials, cut, extras, etc.)
