All this talk about the 405 reminded me of this picture from the Texas Summit

I think as the Queen Mary summit get closer, we need to start thinking about neat pics to mark the event. (Shots of all the shoes, all the hats, etc...)

Just a thought.

I just realized that this is a good example of the different types of Alden 405 we have talked about here. Some new people to the board may not have seen some of the differences. I think these are correct. Correct me if I am wrong.

Yup, I think you're correct as for as the pictures go Pyro. In as we have about a dozen different colors for a "Brown" fedora, we've got just as many shades for "Brown" Aldens...

I was wearing the LLBean Dress Chinos and MJ was wearing LLBean wool pants. He can tell you which ones he has on.

Nor I - those were the LLBean Wool Trousers - a little greener than I thought they'd be. I actually like the LLBean Chino's Taupe better than the Wool "greenish" Taupe.

Just asking for color comparison's sake 8-[
Pyro, your Aldens look pretty much like mine, scuffed and all.

From what I can tell from the pic is that here doesn't seem to be anyway to keep the top threads or stitching from changing color as well, instead of retaining their original contrast color.

In the past, I worked really hard to keep the stiching white. After a while I just gave up and used Pecards all over.

That pic was about a month or so after I had dyed them last July. Since then the stiching has lightened back up to a nice contrass.
