Fools . . . Bureaucratic fools!!

Post by Band Director Jones »

AAAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!!! My Wested is being held by customs in Wilmington, OH. It ha been there since Wednesday and they say it will still be another 24 to 48 hours until it clears and begins heading my way. They said I should have it by Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm about ready to mount a "recovery effort" to get my Wested. Just need a whip and gun and I'll be on my way! AAAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!!!

Don't you just hate that. It's bad enough how long you wait, but then to be held up due to paperwork and technicalities.......it breaks the heart.

My Wested authentic goatskin must be laying right next to yours! My Airborne tracking number is showing the same events for my jacket! At least it's in good company!

IT FINALLY CLEARED CUSTOMS!!!!! It’s about time. It is now being processed at the sort facility. This ordeal may end after all.

Indiana Joe, maybe your authentic goat will be on its way shortly as well.

I've noticed that recently stuff I get from overseas takes a while longer to get here. Sign of the times ...

True, very true. I ordered a leather journal from a place in Austria I think, it's been in the same situation as your jackets for the past week. Crazy as it is, it may save lives. Oh well, hope you guys get your jackets soon!

Well I feel a little foolish (yet very happy) . . .

After I left my last post, I had breakfast, did a few things around the house, and then re-checked the status of my jacket. "Holy Shih Tzu puppies!!" I said to myself, "The jacket is already here in Waco!" So I jumped in the "Indymobile" (that's what my wife calls my SUV since I put my "Indy Gear" sticker on) and rushed on down to the Airborne Express center. Sure enough, my jacket was already there. I now feel much better, all be it a little foolish for blowing things out of proportion, jumping the gun, getting worked-up over nothing, etc. But, oh well, it wasn't the first time and it probably won't be the last. I'll post my review of the jacket in a different thread in a little while.

Thank you to those who comforted my during my time of overreacting.

I have done THAT a couple of times with gear items I was chomping at the bit to get. The waiting is the hardest part. Hey ... isn't that a song lyric?

I checked last night and it had cleared customs and made its way to Norcross by Saturday! So, since it's only about 7 miles down the road, I'm expecting it to be here today! \:D/
