Hey everyone. It has been a long time since I posted.
I have had my Wested authentic lambskin for about three years now and after numerous rain storms and complete saturation of the leather, the sleeves have shrunk a bit. My problem now is that the satin lining in the sleeves has too much slack and pops out from the sleeve opening. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is a remedy. (Besides going to a tailor). I dont recall seeing this in any other posting, but if it has, please post the link.
Any suggestions?

I know this is sort of irrelevant, but I just have to ask: Did you ever treat your jacket with Pecards? And how much has it shrunk? (several size?)Because I own several Westeds, and though I've been in and out of rain on a few occasions, I don't think my jacket has shrunk any. Out of curiousity, does anyone know if Pecards prevents the jacket from shrinking?
To answer your question though, I don't think you can do anything to your jacket, save taking it to a tailor, or working on it yourself.

Agreed. Sounds like a trip to a tailors to me as well.
I've had a few jackets with the satin lining do that, but it was due to the fact that the leather rode up with wear, losing the usual amount of leather material into the bend of the elbows....but the satin, unfortunately, didn't. It stayed the same length, and as you pointed out, eventually started appearing out the end of the sleeves as well.
It's an easy fix for a tailor experienced with leather work, as all they have to do is open the seam at the wrist where the satin is sew to the leather, cut off the extra satin, then re-sew the seam. .

Yup. A tailor and about 15 bucks outta fix your problem. I wouldn't tackle this yourself. Just make sure you go to someone who works with leather and mention that you want the sleeves done the same way they are now (i.e. sealed at the ends). The reason I say that is that I made the mistake once of NOT mentioning this and I ended up with a row of stitching about a 1/4" from the sleeve ends. If this happens there's nothing you can do about it!

Thank you for the help.
The jacket overall hasnt reduced in size that much. Like Michaelson said, its probably the combination of getting the jacket wet and the leather sleeves wrinkling and molding to my arm. I havent used Pecards on it and I dont think it would do much to prevent the leather from shrinking since the leather needs to be dry in order to apply the Pecards in the first place.
The jacket otherwise has aged nicely with some natural and artificial distressing. Ill post some pictures later on in the Gear Care and Distressing forum.
Thanks again for the help
