I'm new to the jacket discussion, so I could use some help. Below, I've listed my priorities in what I need in the jacket.
1. Must have "longs"
2. Comfort
3. SA
4. Price
I figure none of these jackets are exceptionally expensive (unlike the shirts and boots), so price is a minor factor. I was looking at the big three (Wested, Flightsuits, and US Wings), and they all seem pretty good. I guess it's lambskin that will age and lay like the film used jackets did, and fortunately, all three are offered in lambskin, but it doesn't look like US Wings offers lambskin in longs. Please help!
Looking for a jacket that suits my needs (help please)

I think this might be what you're looking for, since it certainly fits all the criteria you've laid out:

If you don't mind the predistressed appearance, then this may very well be one of the most Indy-ish off-the-rack Wested
Mine is in a 'long', and straight from the Wested wrapper, it looks to me the most S.A. when compared to the other Wested off-the-rack jackets. As far as comfort goes, it certainly is VERY comfy, more like a beaten in cotton windbreaker than a leather jacket, moreso than my Authentic Lamb. However, be warned that this boost in comfort would most likely cost you durability! It may look the part, but I wouldn't take it on an adventure where I'd think I'd get roughed up a little...
And yes, for a Wested, the price can't be beat!

Mark,
Wested is a good jacket, but I find that even with extra length they can fall a little short.
I recently got one of Todd's Costumes custom jackets (not the "standard" version that everybody is talking about right now). He will make a tall size with a custom, and length seems proportionate to over-all size. Mine was based on a 48 Regular and had a body plenty long enough for a tall! I don't have good pictures because I had to send it back for a refit (if your a big and tall, better let Todd know from the beginning).
I know you've seen all the comments about Todd's jackets. The custom might be a little more expensive than a Wested, but he has Lambskin that supposedly breaks in fast and nice, and screen accuracy seems to be one of it's five-star features. I like the design quite a bit... and Todd is tops with customer service.
