Some new whips, Lots of Pics! :-)

Post by midwestwhips »

I just wanted to share some pics of a few new whips I finished:

The first is a 4 foot 16 plait bullwhip in a BEAUTIFUL whiskey red. The handle is in irregular herringbone, and the wrist loop is 8 plait. The transition knot is a 6 bight x 7 part interweave with natural tan, and the handle knot is a 6x7 with the "Box Pattern" interweave. It really turned out nice, and it cracks really well.

The next is a pair of Performer Stockwhips. They are 4 foot long, the handles are 8 plait, and the thong is 4 plait, all in White Kangaroo hide. The knots are blue and white, and the handle knots have mirrored "Box Pattern" Interweaves. I plan on shooting some video with these in the next few days to demonstrate how well the white shows up for performing.

Beautiful whips Paul; Thanks for posting them. I especially like the whiskey red 16 plait bullwhip, the work looks top notch. I’ll also be looking forward to seeing that video.

Unfortunately now I have to be the bad guy and remind you of Club Obi-Wan’s 6 pictures per thread rule. :whip:

Very nice, Paul!

Would the white whips happen to be for Gery Deer, by any chance? How long are the handles?

In the whiskey whip, I can tell that's the whiskey kangaroo that Simon sells. I used some of it last week in a 3-tone bullwhip and I almost wanted to call is 'salmon' instead of whiskey.

I saw Giovanni get busted for posting too many pics not too long ago. I think, Paul, if you post a pic from each distinct angle, you should be okay.

Peace out,

Adam

Hi Dan,

Thanks! I too really like the Whiskey Red. It turned out really really nice, and cracks really well.

Thanks for letting me know about the picture rule, I must have missed that. I have to admit, that explains why I've been seeing people posting links to photos instead of posting them directly into the thread.

Adam,

Thanks!

The white whips don't have a home at the moment. I used the handle blanks I got from Murphy. I think they're about 20-21 inches long.

You are right, it is the Whiskey from Simon. I'd love to see a picture of the 3 tone bullwhip you did. Do you mind posting a picture?

Patrick,

Thanks! How is your whip doing?

Regards,

Paul Nolan

The white pair of stockwhips has been sold.

I just put up the bullwhip on ebay. The link to the auction is in the classified section.
