Largest AB head size?
I sent Steve a PM and email but I expect he's swamped.
The AB site says the largest hat size is a 7 3/4, but the order form says to just supply your head measurement/circumference (which I did: 25")
The mapping from "size" to "head measurement" varies by vendor from what I can see, and there's no statement of what the largest head measurement is they can accomodate. (Federation goes up to 64cm, slightly larger than my head, I'm really a 63.5cm metric.)
Anyone with a big noggin have any experience or knowledge of what is the largest size fedora that Steve can make?
I ordered it (Raiders AB, not CS AB) the day before the news broke, so hopefully I am in before the deluge, but not much comfort if me noggin' is too big.

I don't know. Marc and Steve pretty much share the same block collection, and Marc discussed this last month or so:

a) I can't believe I missed that (and yes I looked)
b) interesting that Steve addressed a concern I had which is the proportion of the crown and brim to my large head, an area I am not 100% happy with the Fed Dlx on.
63.2cm not so far away from 63.5cm, maybe I can buy a head shrinker?
Problem is my head is a bit oval/elongated (like HF's?)

Could be done with a size 64 block, but personally I'd prefer a size 65 to have some more bell shape on the reeding tape. My size 64 block is 6" tall, but if I would have a size 65 made, I'd probably have it made to 6 1/16" in order to keep the proportions right. So that would be the open crown high.
On the brim I'd recommend somewhere between 3" and 3 3/16" front and back (without going too deep into details).
Good luck,
Marc

I am good up to a size 8, but no larger. That's my max size in blocks. The sizes 8's really freak me out when I check em' out after I finish one. They remind me of 5 gallon buckets in the open crown state. Great for watering more than one horse though. I don't think they let size 8 heads join the military. Hard to hide behind anything with a head that large in a fire fight. Seriously though, those hats are simply huge. And I don't make many. Not many folks wear that size, as most fall from 7 1/4 to 7 1/2 in hat sizes. We have gotten larger overall in the average head size as compared to the old days. Or so I have read. I don't think you need to make a guy with a size 8 hat mad at ya. The rest of him probably matches that head size. Probably got ham sized fists too. Fedora

I too suffer from having a freakishly large head.....a virtual planetoid....
My first AB was ordered at 25" Long Oval and it still fits kind of snug when I don't wear it for a few days.
Funny, 'cause Fedora emailed me back after I ordered the lid and asked if i was SURE that I had a 25" head....
Now I have another one on order (TOD Bridge Scene)and I'm sure I'll have to stretch this one out a bit too.
*sigh*. Sometimes I cry myself to sleep on my huge pillow...
(And yeah, I plagerized shamelessly from So I Married an Axe Murderer)
