eBay MKVII bag reproduction.. DISTRESSED with pics!
Got this MKVII bag repo a few days ago off of ebay for $20. it's not terribly SA, but it definitely does the job for me. It came with a strap, but it's some bad quality pleather, and it's too short for me to use anyway, so I have an x-long coming from todd's costumes. Inside was some sort of crappy vinyl lining that made an annoying swishing sound when you moved it, so I cut it out and it's much better now. Plenty of these still on ebay.. they ship from singapore or something.
Granted, if I had known that I could've gotten a magnoli bag for $30, I would have done that.. but live and learn.

I really wanted an original but Todd was out of them.. and he sources them from WPG, which means he was out as well. I didn't really want Todd's repro because of how green it is and I didn't feel like having to fade it myself. When I saw this one, I liked the color and went for it. I'm sure I'll pick up a better one eventually, but this really is a passable bag.Kt Templar wrote:Well Simon seems to have sourced a better fabric, but these are really on the 'budget' end of things.
If you go again, try Endicotts. Real ones for about $35.
I just bought a WPG bag the other day for my wife, it arrived just in time for her birthday.....ztmario wrote:I really wanted an original but Todd was out of them.. and he sources them from WPG, which means he was out as well. it doesn't seem like denim, but the short pleather strap and the singapore bit is right on. I'm sure it's the same bag, or at least from the same guy, but according to everyone on here, it's the right scale. mine was 10x10.. yours?INDIANA_7 wrote:I has purchase one of those types a while back from a guy in Singapore . It was much smaller in scale than an actual MKVII bag and the material appears to be made of denim?. The strap was also pleather and way to short.

mine also was from Singapore but it's measurements were 10"W by about 12" tall. With me being 5' 7" tall the strap fits me just right buckle and all . Yes, it's pleather and I would love a more SA bag just because. But, for the rapid need for a bag and the look it helps me pull off, I think I did good getting it.

I just got my MKVII bag from Singapore as well... It seems smaller than the real one, but it's about 10X10... Made of Denim and weird Nylon lining... It looks pretty spot on though... The strap is definitely pleather... I only paid around 20 bucks for this so it will do for now... Here are some pics I just took... Enjoy...
canuk.. I'd say we have the same bag.
well, I did some distressing the other day.. sort of followed Todd's advice, just not to the letter. soaked the bag in the sink, crinkled it up, and mixed clorox with water to form a paste, instead of with liquid beach. used a grill brush to scrub into the canvas, and sandpaper to scratch up the metal parts. then found some mud and covered it up.. left it for a few hours until my dog dug it up, then flung it into a bush. left it outside through two days of rain, and brought it in today... maybe not the BEST pics, but my camera's dead.
