It's rather 66.24 bucks to ship an insured package to the U.S. now (due to the weak Dollar - which is no good for me in any way
).
Prices have gone up CONSIDERABLE over here, since the D-Mark was taken off the marked for the benifit of the Euro. One Euro is round about two D-Mark, but most shops just changed the DM sign to Euro to double their profit
I think I pay 10 bucks a yard, due to the taxes and shipping to get it here. Marc does not make a penny off of me buying my ribbon through him.
Yeah, one would think that I would make a fortune on you, but here it is - black on green - that I charge Steve exactly what I pay for the stuff. Heck, I had an inquiry on two Aviator hats the other day and due to the lack of 1" vintage ribbon for the brim binding, I asked our ribbon supplier, if he could custom make some Indy ribbon in 1 3/4 and 1"... Well, I got my reply yesterday: round about 330 bucks for both
I could get myself a nice Wested for less!!!
Marc, I think you need to relocate to the US!
From a hatters point of view, this would certainly make sense. Heck, when I look at how many hats I've sold by now and then how much it actually COST me to make them, there's absolutely no sense in carrying on, but telling you guys that this hobby can be quite expensive doesn't make any sense neither, right
Regards,
Marc
