Keppler Holster

Post by Rundquist »

I took these a couple weeks ago. I’ve been derelict in my “duty” to put these up I’m afraid. Anyway, Lee’s new holster is the best that I’ve seen yet. He has now incorporated the groove beneath the flap that is prevalent in some of the stills pulled from the dvd. Lee is one of the few that has ever actually examined the Raiders holster. But that groove was one of the things that apparently never made it into his notes. He has now rectified the situation.

Of the actual holster itself, the leather is the nicest I’ve seen on a Raiders. Lee’s holster has always been the most accurate. In fact, Western Stage Props copied one of Lee’s to produce theirs. Lee has these in supply. It’s superb. Cheers

Ps- A gun-belt post will follow shortly.

VERY nice. Do you know if this holster will only hold the shortened barrel, or oginal length also? Thanks.

Not only is Lee's holster the most screen-accurate in my opinion, it's actually built for real firearm carry. Lee is an avid gun-nut and knows his holsters. I've carried my 1917 in my Keppler holster and it fits like a glove. I'm glad he's posting new products; his leather gear has always been top drawer.

Well, I only have the cut-down 4" barrel. I use the second slot on my holster strap and it fits great. I imagine if the first slot is used, it might fit the 5". Does anyone know if the Keppler holster fits a 5" barrel?

I thought I remember asking Lee a looooong time ago about that, and I believe he was able to provide a longer holster, as well. It's best to ask him, though, since my memory is a bit hazy...

Best to call him, or try sending him an email.

For some reason he doesn't seem to like picking up PM's around here.

Just specify a 5 1/2" barrel. It has to be custom made but I can do it.

I have owned one of Lee's holsters for years. It is one tough son of a gun and the best out there as far as I am concerned. This holster is actually made to hold a real revolver and trust me, Lee's knows his handguns.

Understood, and known for years, Lee.

Just bear in mind, folks that if you DO call, and he's driving and can't write down requested information, DON'T leave him a PM with said requested information. He won't pick it up.

I know. There's a PM to him from me with some requested information that's been sitting in his inbox since July 26th.

If he can't write it down when you call, call him back!

Regard! Mark

Lee! (And Rundquist too...) - do you either mind if we use those photos for the main page of IndyGear (I'm currently re-writing the holster page)?

Let me know, thanks!

Great photos!

What frame size is the mdl 15?

Also, I have seen it listed as a 38 special but not as a 357... what is difference?

Thanks!

For C3:
The Model 15 was the Combat Masterpiece before S&W went to model numbers in 1957. It is produced in .38 Smith & Wesson Special and , as the Model 18, in .22 Long Rifle. It is an excellent revolver, and
will fit in my holster just fine. Holsters are in stock.

Thanks, Lee!

I have been debating about getting a mdl. 15-2 or a mdl. 28-2 in the bigger N frame.

How different are the sizes of a K frame vs. an N frame?

I actually have one of Lee's Raiders holsters that I picked up second hand, and it is fantastic.

S&W 15 or 28?

Post by Terryhimself »

If ease of carry is not critical, go with the S&W28. It can use 357 or 38Spl. and is an extremely strong action. The 15 is a nice medium frame 38Spl. only. They both have adjustable sights and are very accurate revolvers.
Also a plus would be that the 28 will work very well with the holsters for the Hand Ejector or 1917 S&W.

Yes, they do. That's the magic of the second hold on the strap. It allows you to load and hold down both K AND N frame Smiths.

Wow! Not that Lee's original holsters weren't great, but those pics look awesome. How did I miss this thread? The color looks spot on!

Just got my belt and holster and wow! I checked a bunch of details with still pics and he really pays attention to the details. The holster is built like a real holster instead of a prop. I've had others, but I'm glad I finally ordered this setup. The belt even has the right number of holes.
