Help with gun specs?

I was thinking of ordering from www.pflco.com and was asking the guys what it'll cost me. he needs the raiders guns specs.
S&W M1917? right?
Barrel???
Cal .45
is there anything else i need to know? fast responces with be apreciated. thanks

The important thing is to tell them the frame size and the barrel length so that they know the approxmate size of the gun for the holster. You should tell them that you want a holster for a K frame S&W with a 4" barrel, a model 10 S&W will work for those specs. If you read the gun FAQ on the main page it will tell you all of this and give you other options. I say to tell them a K frame because they are all about the same size as the Hand Ejector and much easier to come by. That way, they have the option of using a Model 10, 13, 19, etc. for a guide. That's the info that I gave them and you saw the pics I sent you. They had no problem finding a similar gun and getting the holster made. Hope this helps.

I believe if you check the gun FAQ page, you will find that the S&W 1917 Hand Ejector in .45 ACP is an N-frame revolver. Everything I've read over the years confirms that this particular revolver was made on what has come to be known as the N-frame.

That is correct. The 1917 is an N-frame, which is about a 1/3 larger than the K grame. You'll find when you're ready the the Keppler holster will hand both the N AND K frame Smith in the Raiders form. Regards. Michaelson

You are absolutely correct. I guess I just skimmed over that part. I also confirmed this in the World Guide to Gun Parts book. Man is that an expensive gun to replace parts for. $85 for a replacement barrel and $59.95 for the cylinder. For those of you with extra cash laying around you could probably order the parts and have a gun smith build one for you, if the parts are still in stock and available. Thanks for the correction by the way.

Humm, actually those prices aren't to bad. Considering the barrel, frame and cylinder are your most important parts, that's pretty reasonable if you think about it. Regards. Michaelson

The name of the company that publishes the book is the Gun Parts corporation. The version that I have is catalog #20 and they are currently on catalog #25. I checked the web site though and the prices appear to have only gone up a few dollars. The Gun Parts website link has been attached to our main site for a few years now, unless John has taken it down for some reason. They do indeed have access to a LOT of out of stock or NOS parts for old revolvers. I've used their services for a long time now, and if they don't have it, chances are slim you're going to find them at another large established company.
