Torn!

Post by Mystique »

Has anyone had their Wested repaired for tears? If you have sent it to Peter, are the repair prices reasonable? My jacket looks like Wolverine took a swipe at me, there are three slashes on the back. That's what you get for loaning jackets to friends

I had the sleeve lining replaced in my Wested. Very quick return, all I had to pay was shipping there and they paid return. Of course, this was not my fault either. The satin lining just fell to shreds with only a few months of wear so I had it replaced with cotton.

The rips on your jacket are not manufacturing defects, so there will be a cost.

Are the tears all on the back panel? I would say just call or email Wested and ask them directly instead of asking here.

Wested have done very good repairs for people and charge reasonably. You do have to bear in mind that leather suppliers change over the years and the shade of the leather varies slightly form batch to batch. But they will try and match as close as possible. They'll have to switch out the whole panel I suspect.

You might get them to confirm that they can get a good match before proceeding once they have had sight of your jacket.
