where does one find acetone?

Post by Stefan Hills »

Greetings all,

Where can one find acetone? Would the local home depo have some? Or is there a particular brand for acetone?

Any help would be great,
kind regards and all the best,
Stefan

Any hardware store has it. Don't use fingernail polish remover. Although it is mostly acetone, it often times has other additives that could be undesirable.

Yep, as MK said, any hardware store. Usually around the paint section, along with the other paint thinning products.

I've found acetone in Home Depot, near paint thinners and other solvents.

While we're on the subject, they also have denatured alcohol. Is that the same as the isopropyl alcohol others have suggested here? If not, where would one find that?

Best to all,

Isopropyl alcohol can be found at any drug store. It's a medical supply, like hydrogen pyroxide. Check around the bandages/band-aids.
