Pants to dye for

Post by Montana Plains »

Howdy folks!

I was wondering if any of you have tried to dye a pair of the dark khaki L.L. Bean pants to try to match the ones from Raiders.

If you had any luck, what dye did you use? What method? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have a shirt that I ordered from WPG and the pants weren't too much darker than the shirt. I was hoping that they'd be a little more brown.

Maybe I need to get my eyes checked.

Here's a pic of my duds.

Image (alt+p)

They photographed more accurate than they look. The shirt looks lighter than it is, and the pants look darker than they really are. The pants are almost the same color as the background color of the forum. Almost like a faded olive drab.

I may lighten the shirt a little first, and then see if the pants look okay.

I'm still open for suggestions.[/img]

Thanks for post. I saw that thread before I ordered them, and the ones I have look a tad greener than that.

Dragon*Con is right around the corner and I want to get the color right before I try to break them in properly. There's only so many hours in a day that you can go around fighting Nazis, being drug behind a truck, and having brawls in the market!

Though yes, the Raiders pants do spend a lot of time with sand and dirt on them, giving them an illusion of sand or tan color to some I guess.

So of the current LL Bean colors (Olive, Dk Khaki, Khaki) which are closest for ROTLA?
