Zipper broke!

Post by brady »

:x I'm kind of annoyed the other day I pulled out my leather jacket (which isn't a Wested, but I like it and it looks sort of Jones-ish) and the pull tab on the zipper was gone and no where to be found. Now I can't zip it and I don't have any idea about how I would replace that. Has this ever happened to anyone else? If so, how did you fix it?

Find a local fabric shop, like a 'Hancocks', and ask the little old ladies there. A lot of times they have the missing tab replacement hanging on a hook there, and can put you right back in business in matter of minutes. Sure beats replacing the entire zipper! Regards. Michaelson

In the mean time use a small paper clip to make it, at least, functional.

I found this site online that sells zipper rescue kits. I emailed them and they fixed me up with the right replacement slider, apparently you can just replace the pull tab. I got it today with instructions on how to replace it. It was a piece of cake. Great color match too. I'm so excited that my jacket is back to normal. Here's the site in case anyone finds themselves in a similar situation.
