How do I change my D-Rings? (Tutorial)

Post by Kt Templar »

Often we get people wanting to swap out their D-Rings and worrying about it a bit. It's actually very straight forward and takes a couple of minutes.

1) Undo the strap:

2) Turn the ring around:

3) Lever open the join.

4) Remove D Ring

5) Gently lever open Rectangular Ring. (Wrap the pliers with a little bit of tape to prevent scratching).

6) Slide back onto loop and close ring, turn round ring... Volia job done.

I don't think I've ever seen a post addressing this. Well done!

Good job!

I've been thinking about changing mine to rectangular ones aswell. What are the measurements on yours? They look good I think!

Oh, and how did you manage to shoot pic number 4? Cam between shoulder and cheek snapping it with your tongue? :D

;)

Swindiana

I've done this on several of my jackets.

BE SURE you have a VERY strong pair of pliers. Those D rings are stout!

Apparently I have a very flexible tongue. 8)

Yes, be careful guys and gals, just lever gently... it should open up fairly easily you only need a tiny gap anyway.

Kindly save some of us a thread search. Where do we find the rectangular rings?

Thanks, you are a gentleman. Wonder how the "candy apple red" rings would look?

Well, since Gobler has a similar thread, as he mentioned, and the tutorial info looks pretty tight, we're gonna go ahead and close shop. Feel free to look through the window, though.
