My "close enough gear" ...

Post by Jamie_H »

Well, while digging through my closet cleaning it out, I came across a pair of shoes in the box I bought back in 2001 (receipt was in the box still). I opened the box, and first thought...hmm..these could work for now. Doesn't have the moc toe stitching, and the right number of eyelets, etc, but not too bad, especially since I forgot I had them. Also included is a pic of a belt I picked up at American Eagle some years ago. These will work for me as fill-ins for now. The wife asked me my b-day list today...and whaddya know, lots of indy gear items on it. Wish me luck! :)

I think those are great looking boots. If I had them, that would be the end of it... but that's me, I'm a close-enough kind of guy, for the most part. (Cf. my US gas mask bag.) But of course, many here gotta have the Aldens, and these would certainly fit the bill until enough fish are saved for those!

I'm with you, LC. If those boots are comfortable, I'd been done with that search as well!

HIGH regards! Michaelson

Those are some sharp looking boots. I'm the same way. Most of my gear is in the close enough category, but I love it all the same. And it gives me some things to long for. Not a bad start, my friend.
Cheers,
Chaos
