Leather Attractions Indy jacket is back...

Post by Crusader MD2B »

Hi folks, I'm new here (joined 2 days ago after lurking for a few weeks). I'm just starting to put together an Indy outfit and came across the Leather Attractions website today when I was looking for a jacket (I'd LOVE a Wested, but the budget won't support it now).

Anyway, after doing a search on COW, I found out that leatherattractions.com is using a (badly) Photoshopped picture of Chris King's mannequin wearing a Wested, and playing it off as their own to try to sell their poorly constructed jackets. I guess Peter from Wested laid the smack down last time and they removed it, but it's back again now. Someone should probably let him know.

Thankfully, all the info you guys provided showed me not to deal with these unsavory people, so I just wanted to send out a big thanks to everyone that's warning people away from this company. I know there was some discussion about taking down the Leather Attractions jacket from the thread about what jackets were available, but I'm glad it wasn't removed. It certainly helped me.

Anyway, thanks for having me, and for all the good info.

Welcome to COW!

One of the the things we try to do here is publish honest and open accounts of the various products out there, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Sigh - so those guys are using ckings picture without permission AGAIN?

Last time, we contacted Peter and IIRC I emailed Chris too, to let him know. As far as I recall, messages were exchanged and the picture quickly vanished from the site.

Sorry to hear they have started the boulder rolling again.

Anyway, best of luck putting together your costume. You've certainly come to the right place - there are a lot of knowledgable people here who will be happy to answer any questions and assist you, if you need it.

Regards,

Al

This part of their website just cracks me up:
Crafted with a standard quality that you won't find anywhere else !!!
I mean, that's true... But it just depends on how you look at at, I suppose... Caveat Emptor

At pretty much a third of Wested's price, it does make me wonder what kind of quality it is... Did they put it together with staples or something?

No, it's a "standard" quality. It may be of low quality, but it's their standard.

I sent them a reply a looooong time ago through regular e-mail asking them if they'd send me an actual shot of their jacket. Unfortunately, I no longer have the pic. :(

Trust me......it's NOT something you would call SA....that's for sure. One of the things that really stood out was the inside liner. I'm not sure what the material was but it looked like something you'd see on the inside of some cheap "off the rack" winter coat. The whole jacket was "puffy" looking and the leather looked more like "pleather".

ceo@leatherattractions.com

Anyone want to let them know? I may send them a letter tonight, if I have the time.
