Though certainly not screen accurate I think it's a great looking boot.

I just got those exact boots in the mail... like... yesterday!

They do seem to capture the vintage look and feel that the Aldens have, minus the flat, slippery sole! Look great with my Magnoli Pants! They seem to be pretty good boots, but they feel funny when I walk. It might only be due to not being used to this kind of boot. The insoles are really comfortable (so far). I'll have to report when I wear them in the "real world".

I've got a pair of those I bought 3 or 4 years ago for $49.95. Talk about inflation.

They are build well, but fit awful. They are cut big and are too wide for me. Mine haven't seen a whole lot of use since I bought my Aldens. They're pretty good boots for the money though and I still use them around the shop or when I need a pair of beater boots.

Yeah , these are awesome boots! Better "young" Indy than Indy. River Phoenix has a pair of captoes on.

I can't believe it! They FINALLY carry 7 and 7.5!! I BEGGED AND BEGGED to Sportsmans customer service to get these sizes 'cause the smallest they had was 8! Thanks for the post! They didn't notify me (they said they would) to let me know they had them now!

For those of you who like the Indy feel and don't want to wear a heavy pair of Aldens around, I can suggest Clark's Desert Boot. Perhaps not exactly period-authentic, but I love them.
I've had them for about a month now, took them camping and they've gotten the right amount of dirty. They get worn in fast and are very comfortable and soft.
And they definitely have an Indy feel, to me, anyways.

Or google "Clarks Desert Boot" and you'll find them everywhere.
They're pretty cheap, too.

I'm in love with them.

I got a pair of these.

Carolina Boots 3010, they were about $90 and they're breaking in quite nicely. They chafe my ankles a bit cause I'm not used to wearing 6 inch boots but besides that they're very comfortable and give a stable feeling.

The Alden, the Chippewa and half boots of the type are ALL copies of the continental European halbschuh. The Haferl Richard is the prototype of the American half boot.
