Water repellants

Post by Band Director Jones »

What does everyone use for a water repellant on their jackets (Pecards, Scotchgard™ Protector for Leather, or something else)? I have a Wested lambskin (hopefully I'll have two within the next few days :D) and an authentic goat currently in production. After I was caught in a sudden downpour this past weekend, I let the jacket dry naturally but it ended up being a little stiff. I treated it with Lexol and it softened it up nicely, but I don't think it works too good as a protector. I'd like to find something that will protect it from the rain, lasts a while (not need to be reapplied every time it rains), or is easy to apply if it does need to be reapplied frequently.

Pecards...

Their motorcycle leather lotion works wonders on both the lambskin and goatskin leathers....any smooth leather really, as I've used it on my horsehide Aero A2....
