new 9 foot 12 plait kangaroo bullwhip w/pics

Post by nammann »

Just wanted to post some pics of another bullwhip I just finished, its natural, 12plait, 9 feet long from the butt of the handle to the end of the thong with an 8 inch handle all natural weight, very nice.

After seeing and handling a bunch of Nick's whips, (this one included,) this past weekend, I just gotta say WOW! The pics he's posting don't do them justice!

Even tension on his plaiting, straight seams, and they roll out so sinewy it's a sin!

When you start selling your stuff Nick, let me know! If finances are favorable, (just moved!) I'll be one of the first in line!

Great meeting you, and great work! Keep it up!

why 9' though? that has always intrigued me as to why some people would choose this length. perhaps it has all the versatility of an 8' with the added robustness (is that even a word) and the skill needed to wield the 10'........or were you on your way to a 10' and just ran out of leather?

Makes sense to me. Short enough to be maneuverable, but long enough to look good hanging from the belt. Very well done, Nammann!

well, I have not seen too many odd number whips out there and I wanted to make a couple different lengths in odd numbers because I have handled 6,8 & 10 foot whips and they are no different except for the odd length. I think having a variety of different length whips are good even the odd number of length.

Very nice. If I had a choice, I would like a slightly bigger, more square looking Turk's head, but that's just me. Be sure to let us know when you're selling, indeed! Great work!! Keep it up!!!

Beautiful color too. Beautiful. The only regret I have about my whip is that I didn't wait long enough for Paul to get natural tan hides, and I went for whiskey. It's always bothered me. :?

In Christ,
Shane
