jacket the collar
i was looking at this picture from the raiders of the lost ark presskit and discovered this jacket the collar doesn't extend to the middle of the strom flap

Well, here's a question related to the collar that's been bugging me for a while: How exactly do you measure it?
(I've borrowed the above picture from Rick5150, who I hope doesn't mind... Best picture to illustrate my point I could find rather than pulling out my own Wested! )
Is the length of the collar the same as the green line, or as the blue line?
I always thought it would be the green line, since that is... well, for lack of a better word, the collar. But I figured the blue line does include the 'base' of the collar, so would that figure into the length of the collar?

I think (don't know) that the collar should have 3 measurements.
The lower extreme and the higher extreme. (Pardon the lack of better wording) The collar stand should not be included in that. And finally the length.
So you take the distance behind the center of your neck, where the seam is. That should be the lower extreme. The higher extreme should be where the collar has its maximum measurement. That is from the tip to where it meets the collar stand.
The length should be from tip to tip. (Hope I didn't forget anything).
