Acetone

Post by Ken »

Anyone got any ideas of how/where to get acetone in China? My Chinese isn't great as it is but I am sure trying to locate such a substance (unless finding it by sheer luck) is going to be next to impossible over here

Anything more readily available that you think would make for a good substitute?

I am guessing its impossible to ship acetone international right?

Try an nail bar. They use it to remove nail polish and fake nails.

No, I have no idea how I know this stuff either.

Yeah I thought about nail polish remover but it just doesn't give you sufficient quantities

So how do you know it :P

A bit of lateral thinking really.

I ended up getting a 1 litre bottle in a beauty supply shop. Obviously they need it in bulk in the nail bars so they had to get it from somewhere. I'm sure they'd sell you it via the back door. Just don't mention that it's used in the manufacture of cordite.

Ryan

That was my first thought - my guess is a bottle of cheap and nasty 5 kuai stuff would be better than higher end? What you think?

Ken

PS - only problem is I hate the smell of that stuff!

Yeah I was thinking the cheaper the better. As for the smell :-0 allow me to share some advice I once received. When you drink it, think of bananas. It does help while drinking but later you'll hate bananas
