A whip for Mr. Delk

Post by whiskyman »

I'm very happy to be sending this whip to our very own Fedora! Funnily enough it was his work with reblocks and then his own Adventurebilt hats that indirectly set me on the road to whipmaking.
A 10ft, the last of my recent saddle tan run.

Compared to my 1992 10ft Morgan

very nice plaiting there whisky.....but why send it to fedora? he'll start playing with that whip more and more and then he won't be able to make our hats......for the sake of our community here, you might as well send that beauty to me

Thanks for the compliments!
I hope Steve won't get too distacted from hatmaking - but at least he can keep those dogs off the premises.

Whisky, I’ve been really impressed with your work of late, especially with the look of last few bullwhips you’ve posted here, keep up the good work.
Couldn't agree more. I even like the color.

Oh, the freaky background is a just an old '70's chair in my room. It just happens to be near the window so the light is good.

Beautiful work. I would love to learn how to do that. I have the books and I have been a knotter for years (Ashley's book of knots was one of the first howto books I asked for, back in 1962), so I am hopeful I can learn.

Thanks Nick. As I said in another thread, she is a beaut!!! I am very proud of this whip. And it is my first one too. And my last. Unlike hats, I don't figure I will ever need but one of these jewels. My Indy gear is now complete!! Thank you!!! Steve
