Creative guys help a brother out!
Hey all,
I hope they don't mind me posting this here, but it is whip related...
I'll be performing at a few festivals this summer with my whips and I'm looking for a new stage name.
Anyone have any good ideas? I'm mainly looking for something that would sound good at a renaissance fair.
Here's some possible names:
'Adam Crack!' (whips from the inner city)
'Adam Whipcrack'
'Bullwhip Baxter'
Names don't have to have anything to do with my actual name or whips.
The name 'Indy-on-a-budget' came from COW, so I thought I'd I'd post this here.

I don’t have a problem with you posting that here, if any one else does, well too bad. As for Stage names, how about...
"Mad Adam Winrich and his Wild Whips of Wonder!"
"Sir Snakewhip and the sonic boom of doom!"
"Lord Winrich Von Crackalot"
"Whiplash Winrich and his Thunder from Down Under!"
"The Snapping Swede and his Stockwhips of Furry!"

So does “Winrichaelson”I like 'Bullwhip Baxter'. Has a ring to it!

Bullwhip Borton,
LOL!!
Just hilarious, I knew I posted here for a reason.
The name 'Bullwhip Baxter' came out of this wild west show that I did for a few summers. It's classy, I think, but I was looking for something more fun and/or provacative.
'Mad Adam Winrich and his trained bullwhips'
I like the 'mad' part.
Thanks,
Adam

Hey Agent5,
Well, when I put up some names that involved 'crack' I tried to leave the idea of crack kind of vague, so that it could be whip crack, butt crack, and possibly a very damaging and addictive drug.
For me, in the name 'Crackhead', the 'crack' only means one thing, and that's 'drugs'.

Howdy Chris,
I think I have it in my head now to come over for Glen Innes, now I just need to buckle down and make a good whip to enter into the competition.
A friend of mine did suggest 'Adam Whiprich', though I'm kind of trying to stay away from plays on my last name.
I like 'Madman ...', though my style of humor in my shows is kind of dry and laid back, so the audience might be dissapointed that I'm not really a madman. So I'd like a name that says I'm going to be funny, though not bust-a-gut funny.
So, I think I'm searching for something short and snappy (like a whip snap)
What do you guys think of 'Johnny Latigo'?
'Adam Snap and his whips of wonder'
Borton,
I like the Swede reference, though I'll admit I only have German and Norwegians in my family tree, I just like Sweden for some reason.

I like the "johnny latigo" name although you need a black leather motorcycle jacket and a sidekick name "shetlan pony boy"
For the Ren fair ... how 'bout....
"Rumplewhipskin"?
Sir Francis the Flogger
"The Villiage Idoit ... with a whip" .... No wait. I'm keeping that one.
Sir Rinkodink and his Whips of Rockoning
"Winrichaelson" only works if you were trained and mentored by a tiny Asian man who ran a malt shop in a previous sitcom.
AAAYYYYY!
I'll think of some more.

Some of these ideas are really clever! I should write them down for my own show Hmmm something more fun and/or provacative though, You know I believe “World Famous Whip Guy” and “The Whipboy” are not being used by anyone .
Johnny Latigo and MadMan Whiprich both sound good to me. You could also do an homage stage name too, like “Bullwhip Morgan” or “Stock whip Schultz”. I like the name BullwhipBaxter; your right it sounds very classy much like my own screen name , I just like giving Michaelson a hard time to keep him on his toes.
This post is hilarious and Like Texas Raider said a lot of Renaissance festival names are really out there, fun and over the top.
Dan
BTW, Who was it that used to sell the T-shirts with the bullwhip logo and “addicted to crack” slogan on It a few years ago? Any one remember?

Dan,
I dunno if I'm right here, but I believe it was Robert Duke who sold those "addicted to crack" shirts.
Adam,
Good luck finding your stage name. Kinda like "Johny Latigo" myself....How about something short and simple like, I dunno...."Sir Cracksalot" (Never said I was particularly creative....)
Highest Regards,
-Chris

For Renfaires I'd play up the Swede part, as that's so much a part of your....ummm.....ahhhh...
(Idiom sir?)
Idiom! Yes!
Siggy Ofafjorrson and his singing strips of leather.
Mad Olaf's Supersonic Snakes. (but you need to add as many of those weird Swede dots and crosses to the letters as you can...just cause...)
It's about 10 minutes BC, (before coffee,) so that's about as good as I can do you right now, but Canasta's are GREAT! (and I could give your "Villiage idiot...with a whip" a run for his money. Not the whip part, oh guru of the lash, but DEFINITELY the idiot part!)
Adam, you do have a dry sense of humor, but you REALLY have to play it up for Renfaires, or the idiots who have clever, (totally scripted and ripped off from Monty Python,) banter and know a couple sword parries will overpower you, (and the Renfaire circuit don't need anymore idiots with swords acts. IMO, there's the "Dirk and Guido: The Swordsmen." Everyone else are just idiots with swords!) The more over the top, the better!
I'd do a sort of "Swedish Chef with a Whip" thing, where you have to mime a good amount of what you're talking about. Mix in some real Swedish, some gibberish, some pop culture references, and the audience will HOWL!
BORK BORK BORK! <CRACK!>
Personally, I've used Daniel the Fishmonger, Professional Foole, (unlike those AMATEURS who sit on the throne!) for about 8 years now. Complete with codpiece, (made with real cod! Don't ask...really...It has eyes even!)
Good luck!

Here's me as 'Bullwhip Baxter', the Wild West version. There's a pic of me in my Ren Faire outfit on my MySpace page.
Thor ThunderCrack, yeah, the helmet will have to have big horns, too
If I was going for a Swedish name, I like
"Bengt-åke Jörgenssen och hans piskor" The letter 'å' should be a capital, but I can't find one to copy and paste in at the moment.

I'm glad people are having fun with this thread
Swindy,
Yeah, with 'sen' at the end of the name I had a strong feeling that it wasn't Swedish.
Borton,
The name 'Whipboy' is already taken by a friend of mine, and I think he also has claim to 'World Famous ..' as well. I liked the idea of the 'homage' name.
'Max Morgan'
'Morgan Barr Schultz: a show not involving a law firm (but it could, someday)'
Keep the ideas coming, this is great!
-Adam
Actually, I sent a bunch of these names to Whipboy, and we'll see if he likes any of them.

Adam...... I think this was an omage or combonation of the "World Famous Whip Boy" and the "Whip Guy" and vice versa. Two whip cracking baffoons.
Just remember Borton. This aint algebra. Two losers don't make a winner.
Oh yeah ... "Whips of Wonder" is spoken for too. ... As in "Chris Camp, The Whip Guy and his Musical Whips of Wonder. You can check out the video at www.myspace.com/thewhipguy
Here are some of the cowboy names I have come up with over the last couple of years. I have a big list.
For the Irish cowboy: Dunkin McDoughnut
For the French/American Cowboy: Richard Shineré ...But my friends call me Dick (as in Dictionary)
Erwin I. Lash
Shag McNasty
Curley Swellfork
Flag Pole Boot ... but my friends call me Nancy
Pommel Bag Pete
The WhipLash Kid (I use this for my stage name sometimes. If my son is my assistant then I call him The WhipLash(ed) Kid
Chuck Wagoner
Later
Lefty LaRue AKA Canasta

Thanks Indiana_Hall, Bufflehead Jones, appreciate that.
Adam, "World Famous Whip Guy” and “The Whipboy” was an homage Chris Camp and Brett Copes I just did a little play on the stage names. Both of them do great shows and have really fun and entertaining stage presences, they are not to shabby with the whip cracking either.
What else I can come up with on a moments notice.
“Popping Pierre and his snapping stock whips of suspense”
“Adam McCrackin and his leathal lash”
“Mr. Guinness and his world renowned whip cracking”
“Whip Winrich and his cool confident cracking!”
“The Mighty McGillicutty and his war whips of Wisconsin”
and for the Indy fan in all of us!
Wisconsin Williams and the bullwhips of doom!
Dan

You could put up a poll here and let us pick the top 5. Just an idea....had an idea today,
I'm going to write all the names I like on a list, and then at the beginning of each show when I introduce myself, I'll start reading off the list. I might also just try to memorize a few of them. So I'll be the man of many names.
