Photos of my Doctor Who Wested...
Well, here it is. The jacket took about three weeks from the time I placed the order to the time I received an e-mail saying it had shipped. I was happy to find that the large fit me perfectly. I can't complain about anything. The jacket appears to be flawless. Like my seven year old pre-distressed Raiders, the leather loved being treated with Pecards. As for screen authenticity, well I just don't know. My favorite actors to portray the Doctor are Tom Baker and Paul McGann. I liked the style of the jacket both from Who and from Das Boot, but wasn't looking for a costume replica. I simply wanted something a little longer than my Raiders to wear a polar fleece or sweater under on cooler spring or fall days—and that’s what I received. Similar jackets sell here in Calgary for hundreds more. Thanks Wested!

The Doctor Who jacket appears to be the same brown pre-distressed leather as may Raiders jacket, however it appears to be somewhat darker after applying the Pecards. That may have to do with the fact that it's been a couple years since the Raiders was last treated. It's due for a treatment soon, however.Kt Templar wrote:Wow, the predistressed often looks a bit dusty to me. But the pecard really brought it to life and gave it a really nice depth.
You have the revised pattern there and it looks great.

Say, what kind of leather was used on the Who jacket? Is that pre-distressed also?
Cheers!
Update please! How's the leather holding up? Any thoughts on it?
I love this style of jacket because it's a cool design in general and evokes a lot of things I'm into, like Dr Who, WWII-era clothing, even young Indy's leather coat (to a degree) and, indeed, the old Barnstormer style jackets which people like Aero Leather charge an arm and a leg for...
With the pre-distressed brown, do you find the distressing seems too uniform? That would be my main concern with it... and is why I'm undecided between getting a pre-distressed black instead?

Given that Falstaff still hasn't replied to something I asked a month ago, I'll take that as a cue that he might not be reading the forum at present, so I will jump in on his behalf. That jacket would be cowhide and, yes, Wested does a pre-distressed cowhide. Some people love it, others don't. It's a real 50-50 thing with people.
