If you mean type in the url between the tags, I tried that...It didn't work.

Did you put any spaces or anything? the IMG tags are the only way pictures get posted here, not the <img src=""></img> tags, so it should work.

When you are making a post, click the img icon up in the upper right then 'contol c' to capture the pic url ,then come back to your post and 'control v' to put the image url there, then click the img icon again and url icon, both in upper right. Your pic should then be there.

Yeah, I have to admit, just pasting img tags around urls never works for me either for some reason. The site I post pics to auto-generates tagging info, though, so I cut paste theirs and gee, it works.

Sometimes I quote someone else's post w/ a pic in it just to steal the exact format of the commands from [img]to[/img] when I forget how and just insert my pic url...why that works and just doing the img tags doesn't I've never bothered to think too hard about. ;)

Some sites outright don't allow hot linking.
That may be your problem.

I know that some of Jerrys pics used to post with all kinds of Html tags from his host and once those were removed, they posted ok.

And make sure you're linking to the image only, not a page with the image on it.

Actually, mine still do that from imageshack. They inside the image tags is also a url, so if you click on it then it takes you there...not sure why they format them that way, but there it is.

You went and cleaned up my links? Hmm...and thanks!

I use Photobucket and it's free, easy to use, and gives me no problems at all. I love it!
