The "Wested Wait"
I've found you!
And for years, I thought I was the only detail-obsessed Indy fan. Yes, I'm brand new to Club Obi-Wan, and I'll have plenty to contribute in due time.
I've just received my Federation, which I've bashed to look like a cross between Raiders and Last Crusade. I wore today in a snowstorm we're having here in New York.
I also have a Cabela shirt.
Here's my question: How long is the "Wested Wait"?
I ordered my Raider's jacket on December 28th, and as I'm sure you can guess, the wait is killing me.
Also, I didn't know about gussets when I placed my order, so I guess I'm not getting them. But I have high hopes that this will be the "new authentic lambskin" and will have the other styling updates I've read about here.
Anyway, It's a pleasure to be part of this group!

Welcome to Club Obi-Wan!
Your wait for the Wested should soon be over (unless he's unusually busy), but trust me, it's worth the wait. Regardless of your reasons for ordering a Wested jacket, it's a great article of clothing, and a good deal, even with import duties.
Make sure you order some Pecards leather dressing so you can keep it in good shape once you get it!

WELCOME!!! Yep, you're definitely among friends here! You can either get involved in as deep a detail oriented discussion as you want with others of that ilk, or as little as you want. It's all here. Usually it takes about a month on a Wested, so you should be coming up pretty soon on delivery, I'd think. High regards! Michaelson

Amazing!
Thanks for your quick and friendly replies everyone.
And Peter, I had no idea that I would get such personal service from you! I'll check the mail for the tracking number ( I guess not e-mail, since there's no message) and let everyone know when it arrives.
Oh boy, oh boy oh boy!
What fun this is.

You'll find Joe Peter's Jr. of Peter's Bros. pops in now and again, Peter quite often of Westsed, LeatherLoco of Pecards leather dressing, Sgt. David Hack of U. S.Wings, Dave Marshall of Flight Suits, among others, who either keep an eye on the forum, or actively participate in the hobby with us (as you see Peter does) here at the forum. Like I said, you're among friends here, and we mean it. Welcome again! Regards. Michaelson

Hey Guys!
Peter is right! I ordered my jacket right smack dab in the middle of the Christmas and New Years' holiday season....probably one of his busiest parts of the year for Wested....and it arrived exactly 4 1/2 weeks!!!
I just got back from Florida, and my cousin works for Disney so she got us in MGM Studios for free. I had the opportunity to see the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. The jacket in the "Great Movie Ride" doesn't look too bad. However, at the Stuntshow, that jacket is NO WESTED! A gentleman came up to me while I was wearing my jacket there. He asked me where did I get my jacket, it looks different and better than what they sell at the I.J Adventure Outpost. When I learned that he was thinking about purchasing an "Indiana Jones jacket," I told him to buy a Wested jacket and all of the helpful info on how to purchase one. Needless to say, I think he was sold on a Wested!
Later All!

Cuyahoga Boru,
If I were you, I'd order Lee's fedora as soon as possible so you can at least get in the line. I have had one ordered for a couple months and Lee tells me that the company he receives the shells from is out of them. Lee tells me that they have no idea when they will be getting more. At least, this way you are on the list for when they do come available. I would think that your credit card wouldn't be charged until it comes in, so you won't be out anything while you join us in the wait.

I ordered mine 3 weeks or so ago. I haven't heard from Lee if it's come in yet, but my credit card has been charged. So I'm not sure how Lee does it. I will hopefully be picking mine up in March when I go out to California...that will work out perfect so that I don't have to carry a hat on the plane going out there. Whoo hoo I can't wait to get it!Crusader wrote: I would think that your credit card wouldn't be charged until it comes in, so you won't be out anything while you join us in the wait.
Is it certain sizes that the company is out of? When I ordered mine recently, he didn't say anything about them being out of shells.

Thanks for the heads up. Sent an e-mail to Lee earlier today with the order and asked if there was anyway other than e-mail to send him my credit card info. Not 5 minutes after the email was sent my phone rang. It was Lee calling all the way from Cali. to confirm my order and to get my c/c info. Extremely friendly guy. He didn't mention anything about hats being back ordered. He told me that it could be @6-8 weeks and then later in the coversation he said that as soon as he could get it made it would be shipped. So hopefully that works out because that should bring my Wested and my Keppler in at about the same time. Sweet.

Boy, Airborne "Express" sure takes a long time. I've been checking the tracking system and my Wested Raiders, as Peter said, was sent on January 30th. It arrived in the U-S early in the morning on Saturday, February 8th, and has been languishing in Ohio ever since. At least it's in the country. This is just a heads up to those other "waiters". You're not alone.

Hi ITG,
Lee didn't tell me if it was specific sizes or not. I take a 7 1/2, not that uncommon a size, which i guess could be a reason that my size could be out, but I kinda got the impression that all of them were backordered. Hopefully they will all come in soon! A few friends from work are taking me to Disneyland for my 40th in mid March (I had mentioned I had never seen the Indy ride), and I'd really like to have it to take with, so I hope it's sooner than later!

You'll love the ride. I sure hope you have it by then. I will be at Disneyland mid-March as well. Maybe we'll run into each other out there. I'll probably be wearing my fedora and jacket with jeans.Crusader wrote:Hi ITG,

OK, we need a new emoticon that drools.
... and just why is it that when we get discriptions, we never get pics... and when we get pics, no discriptions?!
Congrats Pyro. Are those hidden storm flap snaps I see? I was wanting to add them on to my Lambstouch, but was too late in getting the updated request to Peter and they couldn't incorporate them in. I was on the fence about getting them as I didn't know what it'd do with the look of the jacket, but now that I see it, they will definitely be on my next Wested.
Thanks for posting the pics.

Yes they are! Good eye. I have the jacket right here and I didn't even catch that!Mike wrote: Congrats Pyro. Are those hidden storm flap snaps I see?
This is the jacket I got for Angela, my girlfriend.
It's authentic lambskin
LC w/ Raiders collar
Nickel hardware
Inside zipper pocket
Gussets
The pocket placement looks really close.
It came in an Airborne Express box inside the standard package.
Everytime I order from Wested it just gets better and better.
My Thanks to Peter & Crew

I am a little confused about the lighter color too, BUT I don't think thats going to stop me from ordering an new/old "authentic" lambskin Jacket from Wested. I do have a feeling that I might like the older darker color better... I always loved the look of the jacket in the movies when it looks really dark but you can see its weathering. I know its just lighting and color correction... but I know, I know... I'm a dork. I am excited about ordering the new jacket though!Indiana Josh wrote:Is it just me or does it look lighter than Chris Kings Authentic Lamb? Pyroxene, thank you for mentioning about the flash changing the color. I was under that impression, but since its your jacket (at the moment... and in your possession), hearing such makes me feel better about the color.

My Wested Wait is over!
Just hours ago, I got my first Raider's jacket!
It fits like a glove! (five sleeves!) But seriously, folks, it was WELL worth the wait. It's beautiful. I now see what you guys were talking about.
I'm not sure if this is the "new" authentic lambskin, because it's REALLY dark. Not at all like in Pyroxene's photo. But it sure feels good, smells good and looks good. I've been wearing it since 3:30.
Two inside zippered pockets.
Now, should I get myself some Pecard's and put it on now, or should I wait awhile?
With a new Wested, a Fed, and a Cabela's shirt, I'm well on my way.

Congrats Flash!
My Wested is only a few months old (got it in Oct.) and I wear it daily, and I don't think it needs to be "Pecarded-up" just yet. Does anyone have any advice for when it DOES need Pecards? My reg. lamb still looks great and even a little shiny.
Flash...that's a great smell isn't? Somewhere on the main page someone said (I think it was Michaelson) it should be bottled up and sold as a cologne. Hmmmm....$$$cha-ching!
Peace,

Flash,
CONGRADULATIONS!!! There is nothing quite like having just recieved a Wested in the mail!
I know someone will correct me... but isn't Pecards best for Cowhide, or have they now something for Lambskin? Regular Pecards gets all gummy on the lambskin...???
Anyways, CONGRADULATIONS on your new (and more importantly First) jacket! And don't mind me, I'm just trying to help.
Best Regards,

My first Wested is here!!!!!!
It is much darker than some of the pictures show. It goes well with my fedora. I had no idea what it is like to wear a short jacket again. I have been wearing mid length jackets for over 6 years and this will take a while to get used to. For the records I went with the old pattern, new authentic lamb, with brass, and black buckles (although they are brass colored but suit the jacket just fine). OK, I have to ask.... the Raiders version is just long enough to cover your belt right? AAGGHHH!! It is so wierd. I guess I will have to wear it all week until I can accept it.
"So what kind of cologne am I wearing?....."
"Wested baby, Wested."

I don't own a Wested yet, but from what both of you are describing, it sounds as though it's rather short, and is basically fitting something like a Levi's Denim work jacket, which is definitely not how my USWings jacket fits, which is longer, and which is nearly 1 1/2" longer than my A-2's.
But then my USWings Indy always did seem a bit too long???
But then my USWings Indy always did seem a bit too long???
yeeeeeeeesss, my first wested just arrived, it's beautiful, i love it.The workmanship on this jacket is just amazing. The lambskin is beautiful and really soft, also a lot darker than in Pyroxene's pictures. To Peter and crew thankyou this jacket is perfect. Delivery time exactely one month from day of order.Anyone considering a jacket from wested (i got the raiders in the new lambskin) should know it's worth every penny and probably then some.
