Will Wested make EXACT replicas?

Post by Castor Dioscuri »

I am currently considering ordering yet another Wested, but this time I am wondering if it would be possible to get a Wested made to the exact specifications for the Last Crusade jacket?

I realize that Wested's 'standard' jackets are not entirely screen accurate, but considering that they did supply the jackets for LC, would I be correct in assuming that Wested still has the same specifications, and therefore would be able to produce a completely screen accurate LC jacket?

This is mainly because the person I'm getting the jacket for has the same chest size (44), and I'm assuming the same waist (36) size as HF at the time of LC...

Or is the best that I can do is reference the legendary 'Stefan Hills' special? ;)

Thanks!

I'd say the LC jacket is the one they do best.

Perhaps a call to Peter is in order. He is very pleasant and conversational. Mr. Botwright agreed to craft a TOD for me. 50 extra long. Oh, happy day.

BTW: Target has international calling cards at great rates.

My question would be, is your friend you're getting the jacket for as detail picky as some folks are around this joint? If not, why worry about it? The LC version that Peter puts out is probably the most screen accurate of the 3 jackets he produces......accurate enough to please anyone who isn't that hung up on super duper microscopic details.

Just supply him with the specifications regarding those needed measurements, and let him do his 'thing'! :D

Thanks all, I suppose I'll once again take the sage Michaelson's advice, since I doubt he'd care about the little details anyway...

I just figured that since my friend pretty much was the same size as HF in LC, it would be pretty cool to get an exact replica, though I suppose in that event, as the good Doctor Seuss points out, a phone call would be in order!

I have a Wested LC. It's a nice jacket. The main difference - and it is significant - is the pockets. They look quite different, even to an untrained, unfussy eye. Just get Wested to make the pockets smaller - with a larger flap that is scalloped. Stephan Hills did a good job in relation to this - all you need is to ask for piped stitching at the top of the flap, which his didn't have.

But that siad, if your friend doesn't try to compare the standard LC jacket to the movie version - he won't notice the differences.

Don't forget the collar. In my opinion, THAT is the MAIN difference of the jacket to a non-detail person. It's definitely a LOT bigger than the other two movies.

Castor, I think your friend will be more impressed that the jacket is made by the man who made the original, rather than the 'Ford' connection.
