The gauntlet has been thrown down..... Will PETER take it up??? :-k

This should be interesting.... Wested did manage to make a very nice Raiders jacket for PLATON... One of the most screen-accurate that I have seen from Wested :) It DID cost him though.. I think those specs should be standard... ;)

Personally, I will stick with Todds jacket... :D

thats what i got on right now and i'm very happy with it. the things that you can physically see and the way that it feels/looks when you got it on is IMO exactly what you see on the telly (is that how you spell it KT?).

regardless of that, having 3 westeds, i know exactly what wested is capable of creating. i had correspondence with them prior to todd finishing up my jacket...i basically listed all of agent 5's specs but unfortunately this is when peter was off on vacation  ....which therefore put a hold on that project.

i am kind of on the fence on this. i do not really need another jacket but i would like an official screen accurate raiders jacket from wested. i would have only 4 special requests:

1. pocket specs as per platon's
2. silver zipper, installed to bottom of jacket
3. collar to mate to the middle of the storm flap
4. triglide hardware in lieu of sliders (sourced by me)

my conundrum about this request is that these items should be standard on the raiders jacket offering. i'm not really keen on paying the extra customization fees for this or accepting the non-returnable status. i guess i'll wait and see for any news from wested.....credit card in hand :D

I'm waiting on mine.... (Insert twiddling thumbs emoticon here)

Pics of your jacket is what interested me in purchasing Todds's jacket Indiana G... ;) I personally like the lambskin used. I heard that Todd is having problems obtaining more of the calfskin.. I liked that also, but I think I would like lambskin like yours better.. :)

I just want what has the most accurate drape, while also being durable..

Anyhow, sorry for getting your thread off-track _... It does not happen that often around here, does it? :P

G,
The only thing that seems to be a problem anymore is getting that collar/storm flap to meet in the right spot. Other than that Wested has it down if they can keep them looking like Platon's jacket.

in regards to todd's patch pockets and in keeping with the SA side of things, the flap pocket hide on the flap is too thick/not tight enough so that you can see the outline/texture of the metal snap. wested always does this nicely as per what you see on ford's jacket.

the shape of todd's pockets i like, but i haven't really scrutinized them and compare them to what's on screen....as you say, one man's SA is another man's close-enough..... :D

Good point Indiana G makes about the thickness of the hide used to make the pocket flaps, they should definately be made from the thinnest leather available (from a given hide). I've noticed other jackets not having a visible snap outline.

The flap is great on that pocket.... :) The only thing that could stand improvement, is to round-off the bottom corners of the pocket more....

[quote="_"]Personally, I do not agree. It is a nice looking jacket, but I see more than a few issues from the pics. The shape of the patch pockets is an easy one...

Hi _,

Out of interest, what would you change on Platon's jacket to get it spot on? I'm thinking particularly of the pockets. If they're not quite right yet, would you consider them better looking than the standard Wested pocket configeration?

Best regards - C.M.

I've read convoluted strings before, but this one has jumped in so many directions, I'm almost dizzy.

_ posted his email to Peter regarding making a Wolverine (Logan) jacket, it immediately jumped to a discussion of Todd's jacket, and has ended up with a question to _ about PLATON's Wested Indy jacket! #-o

Come guys, either start different strings, or add to ones already in existance about the items you just posted about. These discussions are going to get lost in these type string, and the connection to OUR hobby is so loose with nothing but the Wested connection, I'm surprised it's being left alone. :-k

Michaelson, would this be a bad time to ask how the jackets compare to the cricket bat used in "Shaun of the Dead"? 8-[
