Dirty collar

Post by PLATON »

Have you tried wearing your wested with a white shirt?
The collar of the shirt will get dirty coloured brown with the color of the jacket's collar.

At first, I thought this was happening due to the treatment I made to the jacket i.e. artificial aging.

But now, I am wearing my brand new G&B A-2 and the situation is the same.

Anyone has any idea how to prevent this phenomenon?

I'd probably would just take an old white T-shirt and rub it vigorously in the area where the stain is coming from to remove the excess color. That may work until it gets wet, then you may want to repeat. Not sure if that would work but I'd give it a try.

Didn't somebody have some luck using floor wax on their leather MK VII strap to prevent dye transfer? I wanted to say Pyroxene, but I could be wrong... Usually am, in fact.

Just don't use a silicone sealer and then try to use alcohol in the area - right, Rick?

Ah, those were the days... Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Gilda Radner, Garrett Morris, Steve Martin...
SNL is still entertaining - about 1/5 of the time. :?

I have to admit, I got a chuckle out of this one too. I had a vision of someone using a caulking gun to seal their jacket. Look - a new piece of gear, if you do not carry a S&W.

No offense, but sometimes I forget that what is familiar to me is not familiar to everyone...

I know this problem on the collar AND the cuffs. The was a very rainy day in London 2 years ago, and I got as wet as one could probably get. That was the end of the shirt I wore.

I've never had that problem with leather jackets, but I have had several shoes that colored the inside of my pant hem and socks.......

Dr Martens were the worst offender in that area
