Problem with contacting wested...

Post by zenger »

I've sent numerous emails since 2-20-07 and have heard nothing from them. I've got responses from this email address before. I sent my jacket back in February it was not made as requested, that's fine misunderstandings happen. But to email them for over a month now and I haven't got a single email back at least informing me that they received my jacket back; I think I at least deserve a response? I'd call the number but why should I have to do that and pay the charges on the long distance number, when email is free.
What do I do? I'm about ready to cash in the Insurance I took out on the jacket from the postal service and forget about it.

I got an email reply from Peter last Saturday, so they're answering, but the replies have been a bit sporatic at best of late.

Not sure what's the problem.

KT? PLATON? Have you heard anything lately?

Got the same "problem". I emailed them the 21'st, no answer from them yet, but I figured they were busy with stuff. Should one re-email them or just hope for an answer later on?

I don't want to seem like I'm complaining. Just kinda frustrated and don't know how to get in contact with them. I'd like to know if the jacket was lost in route or something possibly

I've sent an inquiry from my email with a link to this discussion to see if maybe your emails are going into their junk mailbox. It's happened to me before with other folks.

Hopefully you'll get a reply.

Nothing yet. I sent email yesterday and no reply.
I start to feel like Wested don't want to sell to me.
And I am one of the biggest fans.

i did that as well. i sent various e-mails for a screen accurate raiders jacket 2 weeks+ after platon put in his request (per agent 5's specs). gemma told me that he had discussed it with peter and that peter would reply.

i instructed wested to please confirm what the price would be (either standard or a custom order) and i would have just had them bill my credit card after that.

this took many weeks so i then sent gemma a reply to please hold off on any orders from me as my todd's jacket was coming in. a week or so after that, gemma replied and relayed that she will put a hold on the order.

i am a huge fan of wested as well but the experience has left me feeling the way you do platon

Is there any possibility that they got confused and put a hold on my order too?

I called twice and Gemma said they were considering the price.
Then Peter came back from wherever he was and he wrote an email from which I understood that now that he was back he was goint to take care of it. I wrote an email to him immediately just to confirm.

I lost counting of when this happened.
I am now at the 45th day of waiting to know what will be the price and when I think that I will have to wait another 21 days for manufacture and delivery.... I 'm getting paranoid.

Dont get paranoid Platon your jacket is leaving next week.
I am also looking into the other emails as they may have gone into the auto Junk mail and got deleted by mistake.
If by chance you dont get replies within 24 hrs bearing in mind your COW name is different to email contact me direct Peter@Wested.Com. and I will do my best to sort it.
Cheers

They must be having problems sending as well as receiving.. I called Friday morning to make a change on my jacket I ordered and Gemma told me my jacket shipped on Thursday. I haven't received any emails with tracking numbers or confirmation emails or anything yet tho. I sent an email about 3:42pm their time to see if they could send one and didn't hear back.

Back when I asked about my Wested order, it went from "being machined this week" to "completed and ready to be dispatched today" on the very same day as "being machined this week" :? ... It did not actually dispatch until a week later.... YMMV (Your mileage may vary)

I can say that I did get a shipping confirmation and tracking # though... Even if it was a week later than they said it dispatched... ;)

Somehow, I picture Peter as looking like Christopher Lloyd on speed, spinning around wide-eyed as he tries to make sense of the chaos in his "lab"!

I'm in the same boat. I returned a jacket with some very specific instructions and illustrations of what I wanted. Sine then, I have emailed twice just to make sure it was received and I've had no response to either.

ooo.. Would love to hear about the jacket and your alterations!
Honestly, I mean no disrespect to Peter. I am sure he has a lot of regular and custom work to keep up with.. I, as well as many others here, consider ourselves very lucky to have his services. He obviously takes great pride and care in his work.

Anyone still having problems with this? I've now sent another email to them (2 days ago) at peters own email-adress and still no reply. :( I got their phonenumber from a fellow gearhead but since I'm suffering from a slight phobia of phones I'm trying to work up the guts to actually call them..

I remember that old jack daniels tv commercial that shows the guys throwing barrel corks in a jar and that deep voice saying...

"Here in Tenessee nobody is in a hurry....we are waiting for our whiskey to mature...."

The guys who play the game with the cork are in their 70s though...

Waiting for the Wested jacket is like waiting for a good whiskey to mature. (Not saying that Jack is a good whiskey).

I am waiting to hear whether Peter can, or will, even consider making a jacket with extra long sleeves. Several weeks have passed from my first E-mail. Would a phone call help?

Sincerely,

I'd say 'yes' on the phone call. He's not been responding to emails for quite awhile now.
