alden shoe store in the big apple

Post by Indiana G »

my wife and i are planning a trip to new york this spring and on my list to check out is the alden store in manhattan. i was wondering if anyone had an opportunity to visit this shop at all.

also, i was wondering if anyone would have any indy-esque places that i would probably enjoy visiting in the big apple (while my wife is buying shoes)

I could give you a huge list of places to visit ( maybe not so indy esk) but well worth the trip.

I'd stop by the Soup Nazi. Get some of that lobster bisque.

The Alden shop in Manhattan is small but nice. They have "The Boot" as well as a nice selection of (pricey) shoes. :)
The museums are great, you should see a Broadway show if time permits.
Do not forget The Empire State Building or Top of the Rock for spectacular views of Manhattan.

Make a trip down Time Square and make a stop at Rockafeller Center and Sax Fifth Avenue (I wouldn't reccomend anything but browsing here though, quite expensive.)

thanks for all the tips gents! the museum of natural history is definitely on our list along with alot of other touristy stuff.

i usually buy all my stuff online so i'm not really big on the shopping thing but i'm sure my wife (and my mastercard) will have a hayday!

at least i'll have a say on the credit card when we get to the alden shop :D
