What pic you wonder?

Still waiting... and no jacket.
Anyone knows what's the current waiting time for a Wested?

I guess that Peter put on hold all custom orders until he perfects his screen accurate jacket...

Sweet?

I ordered my new Horsehide (with some personal modifications) on 23rd January and received it today.

So, you have to calculate with around 7-8 weeks ...

Okay, while I find some of these "where is my jacket / hat / other random piece of gear I've been waiting X-number of months for?" threads a bit annoying (and I admit, I personally chimed in about the wait for my AB's and my JPD in a few threads in the fedora section, so I'm just as guilty as everyone else) I have to say, PLATON, that the poster you have there is pretty dang funny.

:D Good Morning!!

Just wanted to chim in here. I own two Wested. One Lamb, and one Goat.
Both took some time. I was told, "Good things comes to the one who waits". In the past I've seen it take a few months. Reason Peters has at many times rejected what different leathers that has come in. Also trying to get certain leathers, from several producers. To small, or just down right bad. He is very picky. He stands behind what he puts out. Remember these Jackets are hand made to your specifications. They are very popular. Just hang in there. You will be very pleased! It is worth the wait. That is my opinion.

Have a great day!!

Platon, my Dad's goatskin arrived here in Canada in 38 days in late 2006 and my new one arrived in 49 days in February this year (although Wested's Christmas break has to be taken into account).

Thank you all.
My concern is that 30 days passed and they haven't started making my jacket. If you add to that the 21 days that they say it's normal, that's 51 days...

Thing is, have they confirmed they even HAVE your order yet, PLATON?

Yes they did. And when I asked what's the price;because it's a custom Raiders with my specs, they said that they get in touch when they will know the price.

As far as I know, when you pay, they process your order. Case is, I want to pay, but they don't tell me how much.

I don't blame them, or anything, but I would really like to know what's keeping them.

Understood.

The last time I heard from Peter was on February 22nd, and he's been pretty scarce here too, so hopefully nothing is wrong since he had problems with his eyes just before Christmas.

When I ordered mine with all the custom specs, they sent me a response right away (within a few hours), but did not specify the price. A few days later, I looked at my online bank account, and saw the billing on my credit card from Wested, so they billed it right away. They still have not told me any info about what they charged me in Pounds, and what was standard price versus extra. I just know what the final bill in US dollars on my credit card was. It was almost $500, but that includes the shirt and pants.

So you may not ever be told a price.

They accept Paypal now? When I bought my Wested a few years back, that wasn't an option. Has anyone else paid Wested via Paypal?

PLATON, I beg your your pardon - I don't want to hijack this thread, but since KT was so kind, to ask for pictures, I will show some: It's just not worth a whole new thread in my eyes. So, no offense intended!

KT, thanks for asking ... and sorry, that it took so long.

So - here's my new Wested Horsehide. It's a "Raiders" with only some personal modifications (additional inside pocket with zipper, hidden press studs on storm flap, one piece underarm gussets, elastics to keep action pleats closed - that's all). I'm very happy with the result - the Horsehide is just a wonderful leather (the colour looks much better and "richer" in reality than on that pictures; it appears darker here, because of the bright colour of the hat).

Don't even mention it my friend, your pics are very welcome.

I m desperate with the waiting however, think I m inclining towards an Eastman A2 now. Anybody knows how's the waiting situation there?

Peter's been a way for a week in Tunisia... should be back now.

Before you start jumping up and down it's nothing to do with Indy 4!

Ploton, I'm back and there seems to be some misunderstanding.
I am told that you asked to hold until my new ROLA authentic was made so as to determin the price, so you did not have to pay extra's in custom made.
Anyway the ROLA was finished while I was away main difference are:
1. No inside facing
2. Standard piped inside pockets (1 with zip)
3. Raised rear yoke
4. Smaller action pleat (1.5")
5. Smaller cargo pockets (7.5" x 6.5")
6. More scuptures pocket flap
7. Thinner body 80's cut
8. More tapered sleestock
9. Smaller guage nickel zip (no 5 )

Does that fit the bill

Cheers Peter

hi peter,

in regards to the zipper, is it all the way to the bottom? also, i'm assuming that you are using the rectangular sliders on the straps instead of the tri-glides?

I have paid all my Wested orders (5) via paypal. So it's no problem to pay via paypal. The only problem I had. When you need a refund they don't pay it back via paypal. I needed to give them my credit card details. This was a bit strange.
BTW: http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/big/2amg-6.jpg
My new very authentic raiders Lambtouch :)
I just haven't got the rect. sliders.

Much regards

Glad I didn't disappoint you, Michaelson. And yes, they are Sleestacks. The Sleestock is a near cousin.

I'm glad to hear that Peter is raising the yoke 1' inch above the arm-sleeve seam in order to make his ROLA jackets more screen-accurate! And, I say about time this is due as "standard," .

Does the ROLA authentic that Peter is making come in any other leather or is the authentic only lamb, hence the "authentic" aspect of it?

Sleestacks! OMG... there used to be a kid that ran with us that we called "Sleestack" (from Land of the Lost), he was a mean SOB, with a good since of humor..Later on we'd call his kid "Chaka" , I know it sounds cruel but that's just how we all interacted with each other. We're still good friends.

As for the leather on this SA raiders jacket, I wish we could see a better picture of it, cause that one that was posted (by Peter) was real vague. Also, the term pre-distressed conjures up an image of blotchy colored leather in my mind, but the color in that picture (by Peter) didn't seem that way, to me it seemed to have a more solid caramel color with some shine to it - again it was a bad picture though.
