Slightly off topic... What was that 'mist' coming off Indy?

Well, this is slightly off topic, so go ahead and move it to the appropriate forum if need be, but here goes:

At the start of Raiders, when Indy is being chased by the natives and is running towards Jock's biplane, what was that weird mist that was coming off Indy's jacket?

Is it dust? Because I don't recall seeing any dust coming off Indy when he was being chased by that boulder...

I think the dirt got on him when he rolled down the hill after escaping the boulder. He was covered in cobwebs and dust when he was talking to Belloq.

Yeah, it's all kinds of dirt. When he jumps the chasm after Satipo betrays him, and when he jumps out of the cave and away from the boulder, he has dirt and cobwebs all over him.

It's fullers earth, but I suppose it's meant to be the dust from the Temple and all the rolling around.

It might also just be a lucky mistake. I always thought it looke cool.

I think it was planned. Ford makes some kind of movement with his arm, right when you see all of the dust. I think they had it rigged somehow, and he released the dust as he was running.

I agree, I think it looks cool, and it always makes me laugh.
